so , im checking over my track and suspension today after yesterdays ride and I notice that the front idler wheels do not even come in contact with the track ( about 3/16 clearance) . Shouldn't they contact the tract in order to be of any benefit? Is this why the sliders wear so quickly at that point in the track?

Yes that is why.Let them wear till wheels start being of use and then the sliders will stop wearing.

Either put on low snow wheel kit or go with Apex rubber coated or after market that is not plastic. They will stop the hyfax wear issue. And greatly help track rotation.

It is possible to put oversize wheels on like the Apex guys do but you have to get different mounts since ID of bearing is different. Not neccesary though. They only wear to line and then stop at least with low snow wheels.

Its funny , I had my sled to my dealer in the fall for its 500k first service and i asked them for the low snow wheels kit and they told me ther wasnt one for the Phazer . I knew they were wrong but decided it was easier to just deal with it on my own than to argue . I guess I better get after it hehe. I plan to change the track to a 136 this summer so i will do that at the same time. thanks for the info ;)!

low snow wheels

I did the low snow wheels , the directions say to put the wheels on the outside of the rail , does anyone know if this is correct .

low snow wheel location?

I got the low snow wheel kit but have not installed it. There's no hole for mounting - so what is the best placement, leading into the wear area or middle of the wear? I guess what I am asking does the wheel only deflect at the point of contact or does it do its job over a 6 to 8 inch span?

thanks

cannondale27 and Weapon X, thanks exactly what I needed. Looks pretty straight forward.

Now I just got to get to it.
