Installing Front and Rear Skid Plates

Exhaust hole is different/larger. Otherwise looks very similar.

I am using a Cat white one AND a Skinz float plate. I know I will have to remove the Float plate but hopefully not the AC one. Suspect will be some work involved for sure but the AC skid really fits nice and tight and I need something for the sides since stump damage reared its ugly head already. Does Yamaha one look like this one on left?

So you'll have double thickness in th center? Won't u have to remove both to change oil?

I have front aluminum bumper and rear skid plate. Only remove rear for oil change and filter access and change. About 1/2 hour task once you've done a few.

I plan to cut out area of filter access plate so I only. Will need to remove the float plate

I purchased a rear skid plate from kijiji and the guy didn't have the mounting hardware with it. Got a good deal so I figured I would take it. Does anyone know what hardware is to be used for mounting?
Thanks in advance.

You will see on the plate. Uses m6 screws and some top hat washers.

Putting the skid plate in is a pain, but worth the extra protection. I bought a replacement hardware kit from country cat. It gives you 95% of what you need. I did use more washers because the kit didn’t come with enough. Maybe 6 extra M6 washers. The install involves some finesse, you can’t get a perfect fit but if you bolt the front in first, leave the fasteners semi loose and work your way back you can get it to fit really tight. I took the stock brake rotor shield off, but left the stock chain-case guard on. Chain case is more $$ to replace than a rotor. I was pleased with how it came out. Fit real tight. I also scribed the stock aluminum oil change skid plate and then cut a hole in the plastic skid plate the same exact size and shape, installed the stock aluminum plate with the plastic using longer screws. Now I don’t have to pull the plastic skid plate off to get to the filter.

x2 - use milk crates. install is a pita. ended up making all new holes in the belly pan. be prepared with a few extra M6 washers since you'll likely have to oval out a few holes to be the fit tight to the body.

I know this is not the same machine, but I have bought 2 skid plates already for my 2018 Vector & neither one comes close to the rivets that I am supposed to remove from the belly pan & yes I have put
skid plates on 3 other Vectors without a problem.

Definitely don’t drill the new holes till skid is fully mounted with all the current holes.
