What do you guys think about this new suspension that we will see in 2012 Ski-Doo's?

I sure hope Yamaha introduces something "game changing" in 2012 (and I don't mean power steering). They are due for a serious suspension upgrade to compete with the Polaris Rush and now this in the MX Z X and MX Z X-RS. Check it out and let's hear your thought!

Very tempting. I realize that I have a reliable engine, but I am not sure that this is worth giving up performance{ie. getting hosed by 600HO}, ride, handling, etc. I am even getting smoked in fuel mileage by the Doo. I think I could put up with an occasional engine rebuild to get the latest technology along with the other benefits.

The SkiDoo one looks interesting.Marp that one you posted sure doesnt have a decent approach angle.Cant imagine how it would get on top snow decently.

Local Yamaha,Cat,Doo dealer has several 800 exec's with junk motor's and Doo has no answer's. It don't mater how good they ride if they don't run. Two stroke Doo's are time bomb's! I think they should have perfected what they have before moving on like Yamaha does. That's why Yamaha's have the resale value that they have.

Ive seen the rad system a few times......crazy as hell. Long belt, chain drives, just crazy. And, it still has to use a conventional drive system of some type from the motor.

When it comes to suspension, my theory is to each is own. You can have the best equipt suspension and it ride like crap, until you tune it. So many people just buy a sled and ride it. I know me personally I tweak the crap out of em until I get it right. I spent atleast 1-2 hours and night for a few days getting my wifes 97 Vmax 500 xtc set up to ride sweet in almost any condition. If the trail is worse then the suspension can handle, we dont ride the trail. When the trails around here are groomed you can run 60-100 for miles.

That doo suspensions looks cool Ic ant say they have ever really had horrible suspension. Our 98 Grand Touring SE rides like a lazyboy recliner on decent trails, even in the ruff stuff, I just lower the air shocks a lil, and its ok.

Everything is adjustable on the skid with servos.
You can raise or lower the front arm and you can raise and lower the rear arms. All you have to do is just move a swich.

He seems to e moving along on the SX track but its packed.I am sure they can change that approach angle with the flick of a switch.

it looks complicated to me,they need to invest there money into top of line engines, were in 2011 and snowmobiles priced like they are should run for years, thus why i drive a yammi

The posibilities of a RAD skid design in a four stroke yamaha, think of the fuel mileage. I really like the stopping part, 20inches of travel could have some advantages as well.
