Hey guys I am working on a 2014 viper and one of the bolting tabs on the chaincase is broke off!!
Anyone know if the chaincase cover is weldable?

I think its magnesium. Its a tough allow to weld. Call around and see what different shops can do.

you can weld it but magnesium warps very very easily.

I would put it on and see if it leaks. Maybe a touch of good RTV to keep the rubber seal from spitting out.

For anyone else that reads this thread, the 15+ covers have beefed up tabs. A good tig welder could repair a tab, but chances are next time you service another tab will break off. Best to just update to newer cover if possible.
