Jackshaft Re-Install

Those bearings had the wobble bearing with a threaded collar with a locking ring. Our sleds don't have that. On the yamahas, the jack shaft bearing (already pressed onto the jack shaft) just slid into the housing on the clutch side. I am not sure whether things fit that easy on these procross sleds.

I thought you were referring to the 800 and 1100 Procross....

There was no threaded collar bearing in either side on any Procross. So I don’t know what the OP is talking about.

2012 procross turbo ,the bearing in upper chain case had a wobble bearing, was threaded. Look it up I have changed a few. Part num 2602 290 sleeve adapter went thru bearing so when upper shaft flexed because of the tcl, the bearing inside could move with it, terrible setup

There are a number of videos on you tube from 2014 to 2016 showing 800 and 1100’s

They had a different bearing system than our sleds

Different on my 12 sorry I thought all the way up till they got rid of the TCL, I had that collar that locked but could wobble ,I lost upper gear several times coming out of gear wrecking the little teeth, had to drive backwards once back to the truck. Bought Scott Taylor shaft to get rid of it and his tcl delete

Are new seals required in the chaincase when replacing the bearings?

IMO I'd answer your question with a question - would you want to chance putting it all back together and finding out you have a leak? That said, I've found those seals to be pretty good and not seen leaks from them so allot of guys would say it's ok to reuse them as long as they aren't damaged. BTW- they are a bugger to replace. The part description gives us a clue - it says "seal, hi-compression." Even with proper seal drivers, they can be difficult to install. The chain case is not tapered or chamfered very good (edge is pretty sharp) where they go so if you're not careful, you can cut the edge of the seal. I use a generous amount of lubrication to get it started straight in hole. Their really tight.

I like Turboflashes response, but I have reused mine now a few times. Ideally, when the cover is off pull the seal and clean it, clean the groove it sits in and wipe the area it seats to. Look for any burrs. Inspect seal to make sure there are no tick, marks, cuts.

I have noticed getting the seal back in can be fun. When i did it on the weekend I had way more seal than I had groove. Be patient, work your way around the loop compressing it with your fingers - it will go back.
