I guess I am at a loss. So many guys on here are jumping ship because Yamaha added an all new model? They still have the Vector,Apex and Nytro right? Please explain how Yamaha is all of a sudden a disgrace after years of being the best in a lot of TY members minds? I jumped ship this year because they did not offer a lite weight two stroke and I wanted one. As far as I am concerned the Viper is now the best sled in the line-up, even if it is untested. Everyone wanted a new chassis and suspension. They got it and are not happy. I think this is a great move by Yamaha and Cat.

;)! .......and a bigger tank......people just aren't happy....just like to bitch ....if yamaha came out with something all new they would bitch about that to ;)!

I think everyone is mad because Yamaha hyped this sled up as if there was a ton of new tech going into it, but sadly its a chassis that is already offered by a competitor for cheaper. Also, a lot of yamie fans stick with yamaha because of build quality, but AC is well known for a horrible fit and finish and now that the viper will be produced in TRF WE are scared this will have a negative impact on what yamie fans love (quality). Also it shows a lack of ingenuity, they could of got the chassis but they could of surprised us with some new drive system or maybe a factory turbo with 180hp to compete with cat. Also they could of altered some components to make it more unique (rear lights, tuner skis not the cat silhouetted skis, alter the shell/plastics but keep the frame/chassis). And my last point is that now yamaha is giving 4stroke tech to AC theres going to be no difference with the sleds in a couple of years, so there goes the best part of the viper. My original idea of this replacing the phazer to reduce cost of entry level sleds and allowing yamaha to focus money and time on a new true blue yamaha would of fit the customer base a lot better. (120srx yamacat, 80hp viper, 110hp turbo viper, 135hp true yamaha, and a 180hp true yamaha. That would of covered all demographics, reduced cost (especially for entry sleds), and kept a true unique yamaha.

O ...the build quality will be there and maybe on the new cats too they are not just going to let cat build them with out them looking over it.....never know yamaha may have bought them out...didn't they file bankruptcy chapter13 about 3 years ago....

I never saw anything from Yamaha saying they are coming out with a "game changer". I did read it on here from members though. My suspicions came true regardless. TY members over hyped this sled so no matter what it stood no chance of measuring up to some. I think it will be a great sled in the end. The Yamahas of yesterday are still available. The one that could start a new future for Yamaha is also. If I was not commited to Ski-Doo for the next couple seasons there will be a Viper in my garage this fall. No doubt.

how much you wanna bet all these cry baby divas will all still be around next season riding Yamaha still. Boo hoo... lets see it fixes every know problem with the nytro yea good reason to be pissed

I don't see the big deal. If you are skeptical about the new sled than wait and buy a 2015 model. Give it a year to see how it does.

Maybe there are some changes that were made to the chasis that has not been mentioned. They had to fit the nitro motor into it. We have not seen the Cat 2014 line up maybe they will be all DI 2strokes and Yamaha is all 4strokes so they are not the same. I cannot see them both having the same sleds with different brand names on them. All the cry babies will go to skidoo or Polaris and cry too when the motor burns up or something else happens. Time will tell where this joint venture will bring both companies.

I heard from a guy a few minutes ago that just got off one. He said it hauls the mail. That's all I need to hear...

Agreed, to many dramaqueens right now, its a good new sled that will improve a lot of issues with Yamahas current sleds. Lets se where it leads!

We have not seen the HP specs and weight specs. Maybe they got some additional power out of the motor. Has anyone seen what they are offering for Spring ordering a 2014?
