Made from 1/8" thick expanded aluminum. Guard is secured to side panel by four 1/2" grip pop rivots and 1/4" fender washers. This is very sturdy. Fab and install too 1/2 hour.

Any industrial steel and aluminum supplier will have expanded metal. The problem is: you would probably have to buy a 4x8 sheet. I would stop by a local fab shop (like I did) and beg for scraps. You do not need much I got a 12"x12" piece for free (way more than enough)

Good luck and happy hunting!

I also just added a radiator guard. I used metal gutter guard and cut it to 12". I doubled it up and then dipped the sharp edges in "grip dip" I then painted the guard black and attached with three zip ties. I glued four 3/8" x 2" metal tension pins as a spacer to keep the guard away from the radiator fins
Here are some photos.

nice job, i still think it might need a pre-filter to keep the snow out, what do you think?
You are probably right. I will add a SLP snow filter after my first ride if needed.
My hometown in N. IL got 14" last night/today! I moved to NE WI and we got less than 1".

Don't you think that it will make your engine overheat? Looks like it will restrect the air flow a lot. I covered the grill on a truck once to keep the bugs out of the radiator and it made the truck run a lot hotter
