Building a collection one sled at a time
I am searching for opinions from those that have put one of the aftermarket LinQ adapters on their Winder and which one you used.I have seen the Up North Technologies one and the Whiteout Technologies one so far but I'm sure there may be others.I'll be using a singe mount for an accessory fuel caddy and am also concerned about tunnel strength with the 137" length sleds.I know BOP sells a tunnel stiffener for the longer sleds as they have a tendency to buckle with extra loads on the tunnel but what about the 137's?

I have the up north tech (I think) single mount on my 137" With the BOP stiffeners the 137 suspension will break before the tunnel even with 4 gallons of gas + ~10lb of cargo on the linq mounts. I have not run my sled without the stiffeners so I can't speak to how tough the tunnel is stock. I was also able to break my first linq bag off without damaging the tunnel (the bag itself broke, not the plastic clamps or adapter plate)

I’ve run the UNT one on two different Winders for a total of 20,000 miles and no issues. Always run the large BRP fuel caddy full and sometimes a bag on top. 1st winder 15,000 miles with no stiffeners and 5,000 miles on the SRX with BOP stiffeners. No buckling

I also make a linq plate. If you opt for risers it allows you to mount above tail light. This allows room to keep small bag on tunnel right behind seat as well. I like to run the small belt/tool bag that contains items I always want with me. When doing day trips I often don't need hard case or fuel.

Are you using tunnel stiffener plates?I also used the Up north tech version with 3gal fuel with no issues. fits perfect and looks great.

The UNT is a good system. On a 137 the plate that has two linq positions will work. I have a 129 and have the single position plate. The small amount of height is needed so the linq accessories clear the light. I can mix and match a whole array of gas, and bags. Works great.

137" Cat with
White Out Technologies double LinQ setup, spaced appropriately to accomodate a double lockdown LinQ accessory if needed.

I used the plate that came with the package, really strong and light weight material. I have a 137 and works great. I would recommend this set up over the individual brackets that are sold. Are you using tunnel stiffener plates?

I use a set of SPI Linq brackets you can buy from Dennis Kirk. They are the exact same brackets as Whiteout Technologies and then use a medium Yamaha bag to fill in behind the seat. That gives me the ability to carry one Linq bag or the stackable fuel caddy with a Linq bag on top. And still keep other items in the Yamaha bag behind it. I bought the LMP2 originally but I didn’t like the look of how it fit. I prefer the Yamaha filler bag to even out with the angle of the seat. Plenty of room for me. I also have a set of Linq saddle bags I can hook into the stackable caddy and a Linq bag on top which would give me plenty of storage for a week of saddlebagging. As far as tunnel stiffening I think the bending issue was happening on longer tunnels when more accessories were stacked on it.

This is on a 137 and it has worked so far… The bag expands up on angle to increase storage. I don’t beat the sled on rough trails and like the looks as it really matches seat well…
