Good morning took the head off my 06 apex ,but didn t put it at tdc when took head off
The problem I am having is I lined up the dots with the arrows on th can shafts, lined up the single mark on the stator side but it seems to be pushing exhaust out of the breather on the engine I have been told I may be out 180 degrees but if piston is at tdc should it not be right
is it possible to be on the exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke ?

Never had one apart but you needed to be at TDC on the compression stroke..... so yes you could be 180 off...... But then if you turn it over I would think you would hit pistons to valves..... but like I said I have never had an r1 or apex engine apart...... someone will jump in that will be more valuable help....

Set the flywheel at the single mark check that #1 or #4 cylinder is at TDC.
Install the exhaust cam and intake cam.
Install cam cups.
rotate the engine a few turns.
Set the flywheel at the mark, check that the dots lines up on the cams, if they do Your timing is set.
I have a howto in my rxrider's turbo garage thread, link is in my signature, browse the index it's all in there.

Okay thanks just seems like when I timed it like that
it seems to be blowing smoke out the intake not the exhaust ,so then would I not be tdc on the exhaust stroke ?
Would I not turn the engine another 360 then remove the cams and reinstall with dots lined up then it should be right
