Hey guys,
I recently purchased my first Yamaha and my first 4-stroke. Its a 2006 Nytro with 70 miles on it. It had never had the oil changed on it so i went ahead and did it myself. New filter and just over 3 quarts of oil. Did it all by the book. Now when i ride it the triangle with the ! comes on and the oil light comes on in the display. It doesnt happen right at start up though only after idling for awhile or riding it. Checked the oil level over and over again and its has plenty in it. Then i can shut it off for awhile and turn it back on and it is off again. but will come back after a few minutes. Ive been told to check the line on the air box and that is ok. not losing any oil out the filter either. Anyone else had this happen. Could it be a sensor issue? Thanks for reading

If the yellow light comes on the display, it can be low on gas too.

The yellow caution light comes on when you are low on fuel. My light usually comes on when I have one or two bars so when riding up and down hills, the light flashes on and off. Riding it awhile on hard packed snow conditions also causes the yellow caution light to come on because there is not enough snow to cool the heat exchangers.
In this picture of my gauges, it shows the yellow light on because of low fuel.

I did not measure how much I put in. Just checked it with the dipstick, as of now miine is overfilled a hair. My light does not come on.
Mine dose that if you let it idle to long. Its just warning you that it is getting hot.
I was told not to fill the oil all the way up. Only to go half way up the stick. To much oil and you have a chance of blowing it out the breather hose into the air box.
