Max Spool 17

They were 1.45 stainless ones from fasttrack in the stick RIP 2 1.25. Those bent and broke but no tare outs with the stock tune. I swapped them to 1.45 mega bites when I turned it up. All singles. Had too many issues with vibration in the past with doubles. 5 of those pulled out last year. All the closest to the rails.

Ripping out many times has a lot to do with what type of terrain you ride on, and how careful you are not to spin/go crazy on questionable terrain.

I have Hurricane SM Tune bundle...and haven’t lost or bent one. 180 1450” Megabites inner and outer, in stock Ripsaw 2 129”track, 4 per row, all single round aluminum backers. Works fabulous and zero issues.

I’m careful not to spin track on anything questionable...stumps/rocks/roots/train track crossing/road crossings etc etc. Where I ride its usually always good snow too, but there’s always gonna be the questionable spot here or there; just gotta be wise and know where to get on it/spin it, or not. And of course you gotta have enough studs to even out the load on all of them as well..that’s very important too, as has been said.

I have 192 1.625" studs all in center and ditto WinterWolf's comments. I have zero issues with tear-outs, break-offs, bending, broken studs over the winter. I pay attention to what my track is on before lighting it up. Don't spin over curbs, stumps, rocks, railroad grades, bare cement, etc, etc.
IMO stud life is very individual and very controllable based on who is running that flipper up on the right-side of the handlebars!

Absolutely conditions are huge. I believe under studding can be a issue. You need strength in numbers on these tunes sleds. No LESS then 192 IMO. I like to be over 200 and on the outside. But it’s personal opinion I get it. But less is not good as WVTURBO says.

192 mounted on StudBoy double Prolite backers. 15% lighter than aluminum.
