We made a trip to Ulmer Racing with my 12 Apex with MCX 200 kit and a friends 07 Attak with low boost MPI for some Dyno time and tuning.
First, A big thumbs up to Allan Ulmer and Ulmer racing! We had a good time with excellent results.
The MCX 200 made 123 track HP at 5.5 LB boost, aprox 215 motor HP.
The MPI Attak made 112 track HP at 7 LB boost, aprox 200 motor HP.
The Attak showed a stronger bottom end to about 40 MPH.
On a side note I do have a MSD launch master but Allan did not start the run with it on the Dyno.
Looks like both will be loads of fun on the trail!

Nice numbers, what's the torque and is 5.5 psi the most boost Allen recommends on stock motor?

Very impressive numbers for a 200 kit! Was there any head work done or any other modifications?

I don't think I have gotten torque numbers from track Dyno before now that you mention it?
I have an AEM true boost gauge/controller with A setting at 5.5 LB and B at about 6.5 LB. When controller is off it is at 2.5 LB. Allan figures I should be safe with that on premium and could probably go to 7.5 LB if I have shift RPM above 10,800 where there is some timing pulled.
I will probably leave everything where it is till I know what it's doing in some variable condition's. Maybe I can set B for 7.5 for some shorter drag racing.

Very Nice.
Typical MCX. Under promise & over deliver.
The MPI a Supercharger or Turbo? #'s seem low for it at 7 PSI especially if a Turbo.
A stocker makes more power than my MCX 290 up to 35 mph according to Allans Dyno.
You like the Tru Boost? I have one but have not installed it yet. [ Been working on getting the new Stocker ready to ride ]

MPI is a super and Allan says the power level is typical as you will loose 2.5 to 3 LB boost to drive the blower.
A supercharger shines low end and corner to corner. Not much for low boost option's for a pre 11 Apex.
I don't have much time with the true boost yet but if it works as i think it will it will be the ticket.

It takes awhile to get used to a Turbo after running a Supcharger or NA sled.
My former 2005 RX1 Limited has a A MPI Supercharger. Absolutely awesome sled on 22/26 pullys for 5.5 PSI boost. Sold it to a friend & it is now running 27/23's & 12 lb boost and is even a more awesome sled than it was at 5.5 lbs.
I really like my 315 hp 2011 Apex Turbo but my next sled may be Supercharged. I'm missing the low end & corner to corner grunt of the Supercharger.

All depends on the individual preference I guess. Seems the industry is going turbo for the most part, not many new super's being sold.
Got a couple mostly stock Turbo Cat's in the area I'am hoping to run into. LOL

Nice numbers, if I ever total mine I think the MCX 200 would be a perfect kit for me. The decompressed 10-11 psi stage 1 MPI is stump puller from hell in tight twisty trails. The only thing that stops the smiling is the pain in your shoulders and neck haha

Turbo lag is not bad at all however I have yet to see a Turbo that has no lag.
This is more proof that a supercharger is not as efficient as a Turbo, Just comes down to what you want.
I can't see what any one would wan't 300 HP on the trail for? Yeiks!

Just wanted to also say thanks to Ulmer Racing for getting my mapping on track and with all the help along the way! Not to many people out their that will help you through a install after selling you a product. My trip was well worth it and I can't wait to hit the trails. I'm happy with the power so far and if need be I can change pulleys/fue. For 11 lbs. Boost on mine precisely was only 6.5 also I believe.
