To Grand View Lodge:
From Brainard, take Highway 371 and drive 14 miles north to the second Highway 77 (with a Holiday Gas Station on the left). Turn left onto Highway 77 and proceed west for one mile. Turn left at our entrance sign and go to the Main Lodge. Grand View Lodge is located on the northeast shore of Gull Lake

Be there around 12:30 Friday Feb 18th. Grand View Lodge in Brainard. Although the trails are mostly unridable, fortunately there is still lots of snow on Gull Lake...so we will be doing our rides on a lake course and on the lake trails. This course is bit icy and you will be able to feel the engine and the rider forward position of the new sled.

;)!

Tom thank you. I feel it is a Honor and a Privildge to be one of the people to be able to test these great sleds before next winter. None of us would have been able to with out your help. Again one more benefit given to us by belonging to the best snowmobile web site ever.

I concur. I'm particularly excited that I think I'm one of the few who will be testing the comfort and handling for use as a trail cruiser as well as high speed trail sled. I am a bit nervous about riding sleds each of which are easily valued more than any other vehicle I own...including street vehicles!

If anyone coming up to Colebrook needs info for planning your trip up, let me know. As a "local" I could help point you to lodging, directions, etc. PM me. I'd be happy to give you my phone number in a PM for easier communication.

Jim

So am i confused or am i missing something about the colebrook snodeo?? The last time i was there(04) all the sleds there anyone could demo, unless it was deemed special, like the confusion and Mach z of last year, heck even in 02 when we looked at the 03 rx1 we talked the reps into riding the sled out around the lake lol last year we couldent talk poo into anything,i think they new it had problems and dident want to hinder sales,oh well it sure dident take me long to get back to yammi,so race24x you going to be there on the 4th,remember when we took the ride out of moxie lake over to rangley and back,me and my bud,he had the 04 rev 800 and i had the blue rx1 that was using the oil ha ha,i will be up on fri. hopefully we can hook up,and talk about all the good things yammi has in store for all of us,see all you guys up there. Pete

mmsnowbeast,

It depends on the yea, the manufacturer, and the sled. I had friends who went to the first Snodeo the RX was unveiled at. Although Yamaha did do a short ride to show off the sled, they had a strict policy of not letting anyone try to pick the sled up. According to them, the didn't want the plastic bumper damaged (this may be partly true...it says not to lift by the bumper even in the manual...) but I think it had a lot to do with not letting people feel the weight. Not necessarily that they felt the RX is heavy, but when someone picks a sled up it just feels heavy...ANY sled...and when you are doing it with the pre-existing opinion that the sled will be heavy, it just reinforces that.

If you are going to be up here, check out this thread:

We are trying to set dinner for as many TY members as possible.

Nothing to do with weight, these prototypes have a fiberglass handmade bumper and will break off when lifted. My brother did just that when the 03's came out. Man were they upset at the show. Many handmade parts on these prototypes.

Hey how come the Minn guys get to sleep in and arrive at 12:30? We have to be in the middle of nowhere at 7:30 am. What's up with that? I'll bet the "nerd with the silver sled" liked that.
8) :itchy:

Tom the Old Farts are dissapointed you didn't pick any of us for the demo rides! Well we purchased 9 new Apex GT's any way. We found a dealer that would include us on a test ride. Oh I forgot to mention we had our ride several weeks ago in Tower MN.
