mobil 1 syth?

Boy you guys REALLY have me questioning Amsoil now.

Uncle Buck have you decided on a new oil yet? What about Redline?

new oil

No. But I did a search on motor oil to read up on what all the ratings mean. Now I am more confused than ever. I know not to get one that is rated energy conserving. I'm not sure what weight to go with. I know the 0-40 Amsoil burns like 2 stroke oil. Probably a synthetic. The articles all said that there really is no difference between the auto & motorcycle oils made today, but price due to the economics of packaging. They package alot more auto oil so it is cheaper to produce. Pretty much the same thing.

Sence this engine burns oil, I am thinking of going to a regular motor oil like mobil 5-30 (not mobil1). I just can't see going to all synthetic as it seems to burn more of it, at least from the posts that I see on this site.

Any thoughts on that.

I would like to research this more, anyone have any sites to go to :?:

I just have to say how valuable of a tool this site is. I had been toying around with the idea of switching to Amsoil. Probally do to thier advertising more than any actual facts. I saved myself some time and money by checking with you guys first. I think I'll stick with Yamalube. Is there anyone out there that has anything positive to say about synthetic oil? The only thing I have heard is better cold weather starting. I know my machine starts up when it's in the -30's and if it doesn't, oh well, thats just the sled gods way of saying its to friggen cold to ride. Stay in and tip a few !!
