Yeah, Yamaha will finally release a mountain sled... it'll look similar to this with a 4 stroke motor in it, different paint and clutches...with Yamaha QDR.

NEED SNOW said:If the Yamaha Executives are telling it like it is, Yamaha will have some cool new sleds over the next 5 years. I like the fact that this will make more American jobs.
In a perfect world Yamaha would build a new plant in America and assemble them here with out help from Cat, but as we all know all to well, most things are not perfect.
At this time I don't feel this is the beginning of the end of Yamaha sleds, this could be great, time will tell.
They don't need to build a new plant. Their Newnan, Georgia plant is quite large and I don't believe they even use it at full capacity. If they continue to move the bulk of their snowmobile engineering to Wisconsin and could move production to Newnan we could see a big benefit to getting new products on the snow and increased value to Yamaha and the customer.
If their long term strategy is to shift snowmobile engineering and production from Japan to North America then the Viper as an interim product makes a lot of sense.
Or they could just buy AC and be done with it. lol
