I know this isn't a Nytro section, but I brought up the model changes. SO here are the dyno numbers I got for the Nytro stroked. 1153cc and 166HP for the Nytro. Don't want to give out the cost yet, but it is only a little more then the Two-stroke number your show. More yes, but not the 5K. If it was I would of just boosted it. Which might be later once I get used to this set up . Just think of what you could get out of the light phazer, with the cornering, and handeling. SWEET! IMO of courseSkyHiFX114 said:cannondale27 said:I bet I can get 100hp reliably out of mine.Porting and stroker crank.Waiting for a reason to do it.Like something motor has to come out for.Hasnt happened yet though and I would like better handling before more power since I know my limits and probably would get in trouble!
i may know something about this i figure it would be a +-530cc (with a safe reliable bore no stroker) ported and polished bench flowed, with custom pistons from wiseco, custom reground cam, ported TB larger valves, 5 angle cut seats.
i have already talked to my engine builder that does my motocross bikes(yz 250f) about doing something. he thinks with a grind, port and polish, cut seats, customs valves gains would be 5-10 hp. and would cost around $2-3,000. 4 strokes arent cheap! now if you want anything else YIKES!!! i think a stroker would be an easy $5000!! its like a bike but now double it!

Sheetwright, you are right, Some company that makes Cams for ATV's or MX bikes can R&D a certain cam desighned for the Phazer !!! Right, clutch kit, air box mods, aftermarket exaust, maybe some headers !!! Then add a cam to help the motor produce better numbers !!! With mods like this you'd probably be looking at 1-2 thousand bucks with a gain of around 10-20 horses. This would give you the best bet at getting to that 100 HP mark that seems to be getting popular !!! If anybody knows anything about aftermarket cams for the Phazer, please let me know !!! Thanks !!!

To answer the question about the motor....
In the spring of '07 I fell into some FX parts, some of which included a motor. Primary clutch was removed (not by choice I'm guessing from the looks of the case) but the core is solid.
I was holding onto it 'just in case' for things like the starter, FI, head, pistons ect......Or if someone with a turbo accidentally ran a little too much boost and burned sown their motor.....
If anyone wants to start the build process with a motor that's not in their primary Phazer, have at it!
I'll give you a great deal!

Ditto.
I am thinking of putting boost on my next sled instead. To keep this a more agial corner to corner beast, for the trail. Instead of accidentley turning into a drag/ice sled.
What kind of gearing are you thinking of running on the Phazer after you build it? I am sure youe are looking for that lower grunt??

if you do not touch the bore/stroke and ported polished, cut the seats, add my buddys valves, reground the stock cams, he thinks it would be around 10hp gain. he is no joke, tho he doesnt do sled motors and only builds bikes. he would know what he can get out of a 250f based motor.

Cam Timing should also at least change the character of the motor and its free.Have any of you guys Degreed them?

Does he make his dimpled valves to fit the Phazer?

I think the 120 Vector engine in the Phazer would be awsome!

RedPhazer said:Why is it that everytime someone asks about getting more power out of a phazer people immediately say to get a nitro? If we wanted nitros, we would have bought them. I really like my sled, but another 20hp would be perfect. My ideal machine would be a phazer 700. Same machine with a beefed up frame and another 200cc. Sitting on a nitro feels nothing like my phazer! I ride moto and I like the riding position and thin seat on the phazer. The nitro seems like a tank compared to the phazer!
I have an 08 RTX Phazer and my dad has an 08 Nytro and I like everything about my sled better than the nytro EXCEPT for the power. Taking the phazer in the powerlines is so much fun, but i can gun the nytro and get the skis in the air and that right there makes all the difference. Yamaha needs to make a turbo phazer and call it an exciter. i would buy it immediately.

it's a shame that our phazers are designed around the motor!!! oh well maybe they can come up with a 600 4 stroke in the next couple of years? who knows what the future will bring.

I agree a 700 phazer would be ideal! My dad has a nytro and if we switch for awhile it's a totally different ride between the two. While the Nytro is big, powerful, and a blast to really get on the throttle, the phazer is more for the people that care more about a smooth ride, and being able to easily do some very tight technical riding. Thats just what I think and I personally like my phazer more. Not saying if he offered to trade I wouldn't though! I couldn't think of a better sled than a 700 phazer thats still light.
