Mountain Lite as a crossover

how many miles did you have on when the gear reduction went out?

I think it had around 1600-1800 when it went. The sled has 2200 miles on it now and just did the first break in oil change so pretty close to 500 miles ago.

Im definately gona look up the freeride, maby keep this track if I got venture out west to the deep snow, but the freeride might work just as good as this one does.

Got the wire kit for the warmers comming and the 4 position suspention block.

i like your bros fx with the orange.. i got an 07 gt and never had any problems at all after almost 9,000km. yami must of made alot of lemons.
when i got my 07 gt last year it had around 13,000kms i beleive. but still we been looking for a phazer for a few years bought it with hauck single pipe for 4,500

I wouldnt say a lot of lemons, I have only heard of 3 different cases with the gear reduction, but out of those was mine and a friend I ride with. They just have the issues that most first year sleds have.

I got my wiring harness installed for my handwarmers, and holy crap they worked for the first time! lol I got to pick up my X-click blocks tomarrow, they got back ordered or something...

Just got back from my first ride!!! The x-clicks are great, but I still bottomed out on some pretty nasty bumps that havnt filled in yet. My handwarmers finally started working for the first time, so the wire kit actually works.

I did have a little trouble though, just pulling out to the trail the sled fell on is butt and would miss and sputter if it got above and idle with the engine light flashing. I shut it off and cycled the key a few times and started it back up and it ran fine the rest of the night till I stoped and but it in reverse to back into my parking spot, but it sputtered then came out of it? I'll check it out more tomarrow in the daylight, but its got me puzzled right now.

Well I went ahead and trimmed my Maverick down to 1.5" and it seemed to make a huge difference on hard pack. Cutting down to 1.5 inches got rid of most of the flex in the lugs and they dig in now instead of folding over. I think I'm going to get enough bergstroms ice screws to put ontop of all the cones for ice traction. I really hope camoplast decides to make some more 144" freeride tracks though as there are very few left and I won't have the cash until tax time.

Hi there. How did you trimmed it. Do you have pictures? Im going to do this to. Does anyone know if i can just cut the lugs with a knife or do i need a machine to saw it with.

If I would cut mine down, I have access to a tire re-groover (hot knife) that seems to cut through rubber very easily, but thats what its made to do, the tops of my lugs are tearing down, so maybe this would help preserve my lugs from ripping more. That sucks they quit making the 144 freeride I was thinkin about getting one.

Get rid of the maverik!! It cripples this machine and does not allow it to reach its full potential.

Look on everyone's favorite online auction site, there is a reputable Minnesota company that has a new 14x151x2.3 challanger on there for 300 bones. They list it as "unknown fitment". If I ever planed on hitting the mountains I would pick it up in a heartbeat and relocate my skid back 3.5".

As far as trimming my lugs I made up a jig out of 2 1.5" OD steel pipes that fit on each side of the lug and used a Saws-All with the a blade that I ground the teeth off and sharpened to a knife like edge. I tried my tire groover but this worked quicker with better results.

Well I acidentaly backed up and riped my springs off my scratchers last week and we have decent snow now but its all hard pack so I just toasted my new slides in 300 miles... :o| Im gona look into puting some extra wheels on the rails. I cut the track down to 1 1/2'' but that didnt help too much since the trails are soo hard but it feels like it hooks up a lil better with the flimsy top part of the lug cut off? also I am gona order some carbide screws to screw into the lug now that I got them flattened out for a lil bit of security for icy corners. I found out my engine problem a day or so after it happened, I had to noch out my windshield bracket a little bit because my throttle cable got tight at full turn then threw a code and not letting it go (similar if you try to hit the throttle when its not in reverse yet) I got my rear suspention set as hard as it will go with x-clicks block on there too, helps a lot but I still bottom out especially like jumping off ditches and dropping 2-3 feet to the trail. My front shocks dont have much trouble with, I tried them turned up hard but I think I may soften them back up a lil, heard that may help with ski lift and sidehilling? Other than my slides melting off faster than I can put them on this season is going pretty good with only minor oops so far not breaking anything.

anyone have the part number for the extra wheels they are using? I looked under the phazer stuff on yamaha's page and do not see anything.

Thanks,

Ill check this week, no snow in the forcast so im gona park it and work on it a little. My cousin just added some skidoo wheel blocks that bolt in 2 spots I think to his apex that im gona look into adding on mine. with that I may have to get a different boogie wheel?

Two bolt mounts

You should be able to use the two bolt mounts from doo but you have to grind the bottom of the mounts so your slides don't hit. With that you should be able to use your stock front outer wheels with them and add the mounts where ever there is the most slide wear. Those mounts use the standard 6005 bearings which are thr standard size for almost all newer Yamahas except the Mono II rear axles.

Thanks,
Contact Chris at Schmidt Bros. He made me a kit for a wheel in the middle of the track where it wears the most. I put about 200 miles on this weekend on hard pack/low snow trails and virtually no wear on my slides
