Jonny you got any pics of where you put your wheel, I was thinking I would have to put 4 extra wheels in to correct my problem since it is such a large area.
I just found out that by having my rear skid set hard and setting the front shocks soft I finally can sidehill and carve around in low snow under 1 1/2 feet of powder. On the trail it makes the steering easier but I now plow a little bit but I think I will leave it this way. I am definately gona look into making my own anti-bottom kit too.

I just ordered up all the parts to add extra 5.25 idlers to mine. I'm mounting them just ahead of where the rear sissor arm
mounts to the rails. My first set of slides are wore the worst from the area to the factory mounted rear 5.25 idlers. I'm going to do a post when I mount them with pictures and such. I used all yamaha parts and it's costing me 130$ total for all the parts shipped.

Here are some pics of what they did. They also replaced the front idler wheel with a bigger one.

thats EXACTLY where I'm putting mine when I get the parts in. I ordered the factory stand-offs seen on the rear wheels in your picture along with the Idlers, bolts, nuts, and washers for the front idlers. The most severe wear on mine is right between those sets of idlers in you picture.

thank a lot Jonny! Thats right where I was thinking about mounting one but if I mounted on up further I would have to go with those little ones yamaha sells. If it helped you Im gona definately try it, I have vertually no wear in 500-700 miles on my last 2 sets of slides other than right in the back there, but I bought my sled with extra wheels way up in the front of the skid.

I just replaced my slides tonight. There was still quite a bit there but I'd rather replace them now rather than when I'm up in the U.P. in the middle of my trip. Less than a month...

where did you buy your X-clicks blocks?

I got them at my yamaha dealer through an after market book, (parts unlimited?) I was getting a few things and they treat me good so I just ordered it there vs ordering some stuff multiple places online.

Well, Ill do an update since Ive been changing things around and have the sled pretty well dialed in now!
First off Ive been sitting at the rev limmiter from start to toping out so with a little research and help from this site
I figured Id try the 17.2 rivets in my primary. They completely solved my problems and now I am running 11200 and rarely when I punch it will I see 12000 but I did hit the limiter on some ice, but that can only be expected. My fuel milage went from 16ish to 19.3 that I checked on ride but that was going pretty slow too.
Next huge improvement I made was slide life which mine pretty much get replaced every 1-2 weeks or 600 miles whichever came first...
I got skidoo 2 hole blocksand placed them exactly where blueironranger placced his. http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=83790 I have rode over 300 miles and my slides havnt showed any wear yet. My slides would only wear out in this one spot and the rest would still be just as good as a new set of slides. Due to the dealer being out of the right boogie wheel for me I put some ould school phazer 2 aluminum wheels on, and the bearings are the 6004 with the smaller holes to fit the skidoo blocks. I took round stock and made thick washers for to hold the bearing on and some flat stock to reinforce behind the block on the rail. All this for just under $60, blocks were like 30ish and wheels bearings and snap rings were just over 20 which suprised me, normally thats what it is for just one wheel!.
Next on the list will be widening it out with short track phazer arms. I swaped with my cousin for a few miles and his FX seemed like an SRX compaired to mine so I'm begining to think a wider stance will be a must for next year. I would move the spacers to the outside but I ride really hard and dont like putting any extra stress on the outside of the front end?
Well I just got word that I gota rescue a blow up viper..... damn 2 strokes.... so that screws up my riding for today

I would agree that the Phazer Mountain Lite makes a very decent crossover sled. I bought my 2007 in Saskatchewan and used it on groomed trail and boondocking there. My wife has also ridden it in the Monashee Mountains in BC. It loves the pow, and it can handle the steep too if the pow isn't too deep. Never had any problems with slider wear, but it's run in mostly pow since new - very little hardpack or icy trail.

your track is mint , i swaped over to the challenger track and added extensions , but i had 5000kms on my maverick track , and it was curled over bad . 151 and 2.3 inch lugs makes the difference on this sled .JohnnyHollywood said:Here are some pics of what they did. Difference in years
OK, you guys have me convinced this will make a nice cross over sled. I'm looking now at a few used sleds. Any major differences between the 07/08/09? Updates or things I should look for would be great.
Thanks!

Prolly avoid an 07 with no service record, or at least have a dealership run the VIN to see if the updates were done. You are also goign to need to do some work regardless of year to get it in tip-top shape. There are some very useful threads stickied that you need to go over.
Get some tools and a hoist and be mechanically inclined if you wish to take advantage of all this sled has to offer IMO.
