Hey guys. Got a buddy with a viper MTX that the dealer says the ECU was dead and it’s not under warranty. May have been operator error with a jump box that fried it. The dealer wants $1800. Is this in line? And does anybody have a ECU that would work for sale? What model ECU’s will work? Are they all interchangeable? Thanks a ton For any info! Chris

Any 14-18 viper ecu should work, there was a guy from canada in the classifieds who had 2 for sale i believe, but this was some time last year, think theres another guy that has evo tuned ecu for turbo, but you can just get the latest yamaha flash that will erase the evo tune to bring it to stock to work on the mtx, and yes 1800 is the going price for a new ecu.

Contact bgraff1 he had a xtx and mtx ecu, he was asking $350, he might still have one

I would hate to see that from jump starting, an ecu could burn up, there should be a feedback fuse before it would hit the ecu. I've heard of similar things with automobiles so I guess it's logical. I seen somewhere...ive been searching for a half hour to find the site, that offered reflashes for sr viper for $300 if you send the ecu to them and $700 without your "core" ecu. $1800 is ridiculous but what can you do without it? I would watch eBay or classified forums for sled parts before I spent that kind of money. Sorry to hear about that, being so early in the season. I'll see if I can find the site in question.
