I used WD40 I heated it up with a torch, I used a screw driver to pry open the flanges a little bit. It doesn't matter what I do, the muffler will not come off. Is there a trick?

Do you have all the bolts removed? Just a question. Try rotating it. No tricks involved it's a pretty straight up process!

Sounds crude but I used a pipe wrench. Just put a rag under it to minimize scratches and get it to turn.

spread the pipe at the end of the muffler out with a screwdriver.

I spread the ends out with a screw driver and used the pipe wrenches prior to posting this question. Yes all the bolts are out. That is why I am at a loss. I even pounded on it with a big rubber mallet. I am afraid to pound too hard or twist too hard in fear of damaging the part that connects to the engine.
I will try again tomorrow. Maybe I will heat it up with the propane torch until it gets red and see what happens.

A propane torch may not be enough to get it red but heat it up as long as possible and try again. The pipe wrench is also a good idea. If that doesn't work, heat it up again and throw some cold water on it. Maybe the thermal shock might break it free.

Try Cutting a slot in it but be careful not to cut the header, one on the top and bottom. Then you can spread it open more and it should go then, or you can also try tranny fluid let it sit for the night and try again it will go sometimes its just a pain in the #*$&@.

I had the same problem. I ended up having to remove the entire exhaust so I could hit it more directly with a rubber mallet. Major PITA!!!

Well, I called a friend, we put on two torches and made the exhaust coupling glow. Took two pipe wrenches and it took two attempts and it finally let go.
I put the MBRP race can on and felt the thunder in the garage. Tomorrow I will test the trail can.
Thanks for the help guys.

Was that the first time you've ever had it off?
