I have had this sled since 2013, it is an 2009 model. When i bought it , it had 1700 km on it. Today it is 9000 km. I had to change alternator on 5000 km. My first drivebelt was changed in 8000 km. And i have to change rails soon, for the first time. I changed track last winter, to an used 151 x 16 x 2. I havent done anyting with the gear, but this work wery well as it is. It was an huge improvement with this new track. I have an homemade track extender. I made it in my garage.
This year, my sled was under water for 12 houre, but after changing oil, and spray som electrical spray in every cable joint it startet up, an I havent had any problem with it after that.
Sorry for bad english, I live in Norway, and dont speak english often.
I live far north, 68° 54' 02” N

Welcome to TY!
What an awesome first post! Beautiful scenery. And it just goes to show how good Yamaha reliability is that even a swim won't stop them.
Was there a lot of water in the oil? I would changing all the oils again after a little while to be sure it's all gone.
Your English is fine. I've seen worse from people that have English as their mother tongue.

Hello, I have changed the oil 4 times on the engine after it was under water, with new filter 2 times. The oil in the chaincase i have changes 4 times, but i think im going to open it and clean it inside, the oil is getting white after a while. The engine was full of water, but the fueltank was fine, its a closed system.

I am impressed with the track. I am curious to know what some of the big differences are that you have noticed between the 144 and now the longer track with the bigger lugs?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hallo Bjorn,
I have now exhausted my knowledge of your language. Thanks for the post. Nice job on the track extension. One look at the amount of snow you have explains why you'd want the track change. I ride daily so I wish I had second MP just to experiment on. Thanks again for introducing yourself to our little section of TY.

The difference in deep snow is huge, as you can see in the picture i live in a hilly area. We do mostly ride in our own track, an somtime when I have a sled with me , before I could not get up the hill becouse the lack of traction. But, now i can start in the middle of an hill without no problem.I am impressed with the track. Of course anytime you add more track, it will increase a machine's flotation ability by as much. I went from a 144x16x1.25 to a 144x15x1.5. The loss of flotation is negligible but the increase in traction is indeed noticeable. Extreme mountain riding does require extreme mods like in your case.
Member Karl did a similar mod but 159x16x2. He also modded it out by removing stuff like the rack to reduce weight.
