Need advice about backpack.

i have an ortovox has shovel and probe. I do not really like this pack as it is basic and it likes to put the weight at the bottom. This was a gift so i use it. It does have a spot for a bladder but i use it to keep my laminated maps in that spot.

I have an old Lowe Alpine backcountry ski pack that I've had for about 10 years and it is still kickin; love it. Most of my buddies have upgraded to the black diamond packs with avalungs. Their main intent is to ski backcountry lines accessing via sleds. They all love their bd packs. when I upgrade, no doubt it will be a bd w/ an avalung.

Snowpulse highmark here. Only had it for one trip so far but it is a lot better than the klim pack I have. Has a spot for a hydration pack. Nice part is you can unzip the storage part of the pack away from the airbag part and swap it for a different storage one.

I have a nice ski/snowboard pack. Fits great, has lots of pockets and has a shovel and probe holder. It keeps the weather out better than others I have tried. Cant remember which pack I have off the top of my head, but you can find a nice one at the local ski shop. Best part is you can try them all on!

Dakine Pro II all the way. Took me a long time to find a good backpack and stumbled on this one. Had it for 3 seasons and does everything I need it to do. Bit on the $$ side but well worth it, don't even feel it on my back! I bring a lot of stuff with me on trip and I still have room left. Shovel, rope, gps, xtra goggles, food...ect, you get the point!
