Just purchased my new sidewinder ltx see today. My gonna run 144 1.45 studs. I'm debating what clutch kit to go with. Have Ulmers on my 2011 Apex. What kit is producing the best results shipped to me with only some fine tuning? Don't really want to start from scratch. Also will a clutch puller from a Apex work on the Sidewinder or do I need a new one? Also is the belt adjusters a must have item? Want the best performance possible from my machine. Any other "must have" mods I should do? Haven't picked the sleds up yet but how big of a job is it to do a full oil change on the Sidewinder? Compared to the Apex? Sorry for all the questions but I'm as excited as a little kid on Christmas morning. Thanks in advance for all replies

Here is something to read in regards to studding. Also take a day or two and go thru topics. It might help get you going! Congrats on the new sled. what did you ride b4?

...and once at band camp....First of all slow down & breath. Squirt some WD-40 on the "?" button before your wife needs it. Here are some things to catch you up. 1) learn how to take all 3 of your panels off then tighten all hose clamps & double check boots on intake 2) take off your exhaust before heat cycles then replace Torx bolts with hex heads & neva-seize 3) while exhaust is off tighten more clamps, check chain tension & tighten Turbo bolts &/or add a locking device to bolts 3) check coolant, oil & gear case oils 4) loosen shock nuts & re-tighten with supplied tool or you'll never be able to adjust in field 5) order some Arctic Cat or aftermarket rollers cuz looks like we may have a problem Houston. NOW FOR SPEED PARTS: A lot out there & still testing. Hurricane, Turbo Dynamics & Evolution all have mufflers, tunes & clutch kits. Ulmer sells it all & OSP & Sandale have offerings also on this site. This will be a cost over pride call here so read up our new TY friend. This site will tell you everything you need to know & some stuff you didn't need to know. Last of all, get your arse up to Millinocket & watch my rear end for 300 miles...i need more Yamaha friends...Just purchased my new sidewinder ltx see today. My gonna run 144 1.45 studs. Coming off a 2011 Apex SE and I've been a member for many many years but was out of the game for a couple. Divorce and other crap. So couldn't remember my old password and no longer have the email address I joined with so was easier to start over. I'll definitely read up on things. Purchased my sidewinder from Woodys Yamaha always had great service and Woody knows his yamahas. I'll be headed north January 6th that's the earliest I can go due to I leave Thursday for Arizona for a week. My 16 year old son is even more excited than I am cause he now rides the 2011 Apex SE which is a very good runner been my best sled to date after 2 previous Apexs. Ride safe and have fun everyone
