I purchased this sled with the riser and pivot already installed. I really like how the bars are set up, but one little thing bothers me. Not a big deal but...you know. The lower (rubber) handlebar cover will not fit on the bottom over the clamps anymore. There is now this exposed hole around the steering stem. I would like to cover it up a bit to make it look a bit more tidy. Any suggestions??

The only thing i can think of, i know there are more creative people on the board, go to a fabric store get some fake leather and velcrow (self adhesive) and create a cover...

I think I might have some left over from the handlebar pad I made for my viper.

Anyone else have any ideas

Try some fiberglass that stuff is great to work with then paint it, Nice looking setup you got there!

would you sugest making a cardboard template and then lay fiberglass over it? Also what did you use on your tunnel cover, "kitty hair" or mats of fiberglass

go to your local plumbing supply or Home Depot/Lowes and pick up a plastic roof flashing, 1-1/2 inch. The center has a rubber boot with a hole in the middle. You can go there and check them out and they are cheap. They also range from 1-1/2 thru 4 inch. Just an idea but check it out.

Yes make a template of somesort, but make shure you put some release paper on it, you can get this at any napa store, im pretty shure. I used the fiber glass cloth instead (much easier to work with) and then used fiberglass jelly, that stuff works wonders and hardens up like a rock. Then after that just peel it off the release paper, sand her down to make it smooth, and then put some icing (really thin body filler), paint her then shes done, good luck!

There was a guy on ebay selling a fabric cover that looked good and I think the price was under $20. If I run across the ad I'll post the link.

Get a boot from a front wheel drive car axel from NAPA and cut it to size. It won't be square but I have seen this on several Polaris sleds and it looks pretty good. Vectornut.
