IMO, those plastic backers are garbage. On a 1.25 track, 1.575 woodys or equivalent size of another brand work great, with regular aluminum backers. Triggers will hook the best buy are fragile, megabites are durable and hook well.
The mega bites are pretty darn indestructible and I have been more than impressed with those plastic backers so far. I never had a problem with the aluminum backers but it was nice to shed the weight and the lug type backers throw more snow up into the tunnel.
Did you have trouble with the Super Lites Phil?

I have never ran the superlites, but I did install them with a buddy once, and that alone makes me not want them, LOL. If you ride like a sane person, Im sure the super lites are good., The tracks I have seen with superlites, they dont hold up as well as a conventional aluminum backer.
A few years ago when I was still on my Nytro, I did conventional backers and we did super lites on my buddies nytro. We rode the same trails, pretty much same riding style. At the end of the year he had lost a few, and mine still looked mint. At the end of the day, if you only lose a few a year, that is pretty irrelevant. Ive had to replace 4 bent megabytes this season after some rocky trails.
I think installed properly...... Tapped and super glued, they will pull windows out of the track before the studs pull through. I've seen it first hand. I'm torturing them on my current original 2017 track and if it were not for all the stumps and rocks showing with these terrible trail conditions I don't think that would have happened. I have a new track waiting to go in, but I want to get some more feed back before I stud it.

Ya, we never tapped the backers. Just had them in hot soapy water and used a small impact to put them in there. The crazy glue definitely sounds like it would work a lot better, but I would probably make a mess and glue myself to to track or something stupid. Too delicate of an install for me, lol.

You will want 2 doubles per bar. You can buy a template or just space them so that the studs are 3/16" of an inch out of line with each row. There's a bunch of different patterns and this is over simplifying it. It just takes some thought and planning so the pattern doesn't repeat to often
1.25 Rip II, 192 1.5 in stud boys w/tall nuts. More than adequate.
