New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Cat doesn't need Yamaha to build them a two stroke...they have their own engine building facility, and have already built their own 600, you can bet they will build their own 800....AND THERE WILL BE NO YAMAHA TWO STROKE SNOWMOBILE WITH A CAT ENGINE IN IT...PERIOD!!!! Yamaha is a 4 stroke engine company....they have made that pretty clear in their statements to the press over the past 10 years...give up the two smoke talk..it ain't happening!!

Cat assembles the 600 c-tec engine, all the parts are made by other companies..

I'm beginning to think Yamaha leaked this photo themselves in order to either throw all of us off track or simply just to tease us more. I mean, it's 2016, and somehow a picture like this taken from a potato gets leaked? Almost every rider has a Go Pro now, especially out in Island Park. Has anyone found the original photo at full resolution, or at least the source?

I haven't seen the dyno numbers comparing Nytro to a Viper 4s. I know they are basically the same engine other than the exhaust and fuel mapping. Personally just seat of the pants I feel the motor felt like it had more punch in the Nytro chassis.

Thats the rated hp given by Yamaha. And yes i agree on the power feel between the Nytro/Viper. I think the engine preforms the same hp but the AC china ECU ignition/fuel system is far worse than the Nytro Yamaha system. Just look how bad the vipers are starting ( strarter issue is from this ), idles bad and i believe it uses more fuel.

I think the following will happen; cat 9000 with yamaha 998 3 cyl with turbo, around 190 hp, new yama with 998 3 cyl with turbo around 155hp, option 190hp, like todays mpi-option. For 2018 new apex in the 170-175hp without turbo

View attachment 116255 Fair enough. Back to Yamaha. Anyone suspect this is a 2-stroke hint from CR on his blog?

So did everyone else ignore this post? I never saw this photo on the Yamablog. Did CR post it, and if so when, and if so, where did it go. It's not there now.

Artic will want to keep claiming highest hp so if they are leaving Suzuki I'm sure they placed an order for a 200+ hp engine..

I hope to god but I am not confident. A factory sub 200 hp factory turbo 1049 Yamaha motor as a replacement to the easily and cheaply modified old turbo Zuk would be an embarrassment. Good for the Yamaha guys that would be satisfied with it but will be extremely unpopular with the Turbo Cat guys. Me included as much as I like the 1049. Fingers crossed that the years of rumors are wrong.

CR posted it and it is still there - it is under the "If a Tree Falls in the Forest" post from Feb 2nd. It very well could be a hint. Part of me thinks that all of the pictures he posts have something to do with what's coming. I wish they weren't so vague!

Perhaps, good view but could also someone might of set up one of those game cameras somewhere around the test facility's or drone and captured it for himself. Wouldn't that be a peek a boo moment.

I said it before and will say it again, I don’t think yamaha would make a cat turbo replacement and not offer the yamaha equivalent in their own sled. It would be a slap in the face to the yamaha faithful (myself included. )

What I also noticed on the body work in front of the riders knee, the panel tucks inward towards the engine. As to be drawing hot air out and away, like on the sport bike fairings.R1. Leading me to believe big heat!, big air in big air out! Turbo, 4 Hole CP ?. Nice pic, love the new look.

Nailed it. The Yamaha guys will be happy with a 3 hole turbo. The cat guys will be disappointed. Truth is, the 1100T will be unmatched when you talk about adding more HP for cheap. The current 3 cyl from Yamaha will need stronger internals to add the kind of hp that those guys are adding to the 1100T. The ECU probably won't be as easy to modify either.

Oh we've been slapped in the face before, but if Y could put in a 4 hole CP in the PC why even go the Turbo route. I'd rather have a N\A 200 HP 4CP than the T, but would not hate the 3holeT if they decided that route, they mean it Y and AC.
