New 2017 Yamaha Sleds...

Just saw one in person in Buffalo NY area (sneak peek show is 3/2/16 in area). Same basic chassis as Viper. Actually pretty much everything from tank back (seat, gas tank, tunnel)is same as current viper. Hood and windshield obviously completely different. Nice that you can basically take off all the front plastics with only a couple 1/4 turn fasteners and its all off in a few minutes. Same gauge as b4 but clarity of digits is better and more precise. Only heard engine run at idle and it definitely sounded different. ECU and electronics are all Mitsu parts with Yamaha mapping. Sled fired right up with none of the surging goofy idle that the Vipers have with AC electronics. Same handlebars and controls as b4. New bodywork actually seems to be narrower than Viper plastics. Sleds are still assembled by AC in Minnesota. Overall, I was VERY impressed with the quality and fit/finish of this prototype. Usually the spring show protos are kind of hacked together mules, but the one I looked at looked to have better overall fit/finish than my production '14 Viper. Sorry I didn't get pics as it was dark out(sled was outside) but it was a blue RTX. They said there is 0 turbo lag. I guess I'll find out next year because I will be ordering for sure. Oh yea, that new LED headlight is awesome!!!!! Brighter than the headlights of cars pulling into parking lot.

I'm tired of all the oh #*$&@ this new super tech advanced Sidewinder Turbo is expensive ...

Go to BRP site and build a Doo... Add the features , add their LED light kit, add their adjustable shock option , add an aftermarket turbo , add , add, add...

Oh and u still have a 2 smoke so add your engine job in 5 k...

Then give your head a hard shake after u take it outta your ..... The sand...

Boys this is technology and If u play u pay.

I for one won't bitch at all about the price because I'm getting exactly what I'm paying for and all covered under their warranty ...
Bravo Yamaha!! :4STroke:

:yam:

Put your head in the sand! Not all of us can afford this chunk of change for a sled. If you are able to, bravo, go for it! But don't berate those who say it's too much because they likely can't afford it. And most everybody on this site already has a 4S.

I have heard they do and as stated before its called Thundercat. I guess if its turned up a notch that would be at their own peril. Makes you wonder how much will be the same? I assume the Cat will have Team clutches but how about the ignition?

Oh I did hear today no new Cat 800 motor....yet.....we'll see tomorrow.
