The Japanese are robots themselves. Why do they need more?Japan is huge into Robots! Robots are Japans future! Yamaha is also building cars! There are more divisions in Yamaha then just Sleds and funding coming from outside sources. I think the car would be a nice ride. 1,000cc and 200 hp weighing 1,650pds =8.25 pds/hp

- Bought a new 05 Vector which I still have
24K miles
Now im just annoyed
A friggin robot that rides motorcycles. Why, why, why???
Most of us have been waiting years for a new sled from yamaha and to see them investing time money and energy into something as friggin stupid as a robot that rides motorcycles is simply sickening.
Maybe i dont see the big picture, maybe i dont understand big buisness but for christ sakes, theres people kicking and screaming and willing to cough up tens of thousands of dollars for new sleds from yamaha and this is what they are doing?
Not sure how some stupid robot riding a motorcycle is going to put any money into the powersports division?
with each passing day i believe more and more that this company has thier head firmly implanted in their azz.
It's about PROFIT. Look at the worldwide market size and potential for motorcycle sales and total profit. Then compare it to snowmobiles. It's a no brainer from a business standpoint.
None of the 3 other sled makers is any different. The days of offering a product that appeals to the buyer without having an acceptable ROI (Return On Investment) are longgggggg gone. The ROI must be there and the shareholders must be kept happy.

Not bashing, just having some fun at their expense. Was a joke with multiple puns.

Also heard from my dealer that March 1st with a video release to the dealers! In my opinion this tells me BNG! I hope I'm wrong! To me sales don't seem to be as good this year because of the low snow numbers and more than likely will force the BNG card. It also doesn't give me much hope when Chris hasn't posted on sled talk in over two months! But then again maybe he wants us all to eat large plate full of crow by dropping a bombshell on us! Hoping for the bombshell! Got my fork and knife ready for the crow dinner!

sorry to hear that, that sucks. thats why i went with the 600, it has a good track record. didn't want to be a guinea pig for that new 800 motor. i still have my 05 RX1 and she's never let me down. lolWell I bought a new Axys 800. I have 210 miles on it and BOOM! Something let go and the motor is junk. Dealer is putting in a new motor. Thank god I kept the Viper. Never have I been let down with Yamaha. Say all you want but here is the truth

This project is more about chest beating then anything else. As far as motorcycle sales are concerned no one under the age of 25 can afford the insurance for anything above 500cc here in Canada anymore , that's why most riders are on 350cc bikes or less. Insurance for a sport 600cc bike is half the price of the bike. And of course sales in emerging markets will boost sales figures when your older markets are stagnant.Yamaha is just trying to get into the same thing Polaris is involved in DARPA and most of that tech goes to the military and Polaris has got a pretty good foothold with the military.

Bring it Yamaha, I would love to eat some crow. But with the track record Yamaha has, it looks like steak dinner again. F , I hope I am wrong.

I knows it's far away but if Yamaha don't have a two stoke or new sled by 2018 50th anniversary, they will never do anything new, if they don't bring something new to the table I'll be jumping to cat.

Just saw my Yamaha rep up here in NB Canada today and all info on the 2017 Line up will be released to dealers around Jan 20 16! All he would say is expect the unexpected .... Only 22 more sleeps!
OK - It's Jan 20 16 - What's the scoop?
