Yamaha is giving test rides in Hammond Ontario on Jan. 23rd, 2016.
I guess they will be using 2016 MY sleds.
Not very exciting for the Yamaha faithful that have waited forever, for something new and different.

If Chris Reid still has his job, and YMC does plan on bringing something new for 2017, he'd be dropping hints on his blog. That's not to say that I think YMC doesn't have something in the works, but this winter's lack of snow has likely left a lot of inventory on the showroom floors of many dealers, and I'm thinking that YMC may want to protect those dealers by keeping quiet for now. What I'm suggesting is that they may be taking a "Let's see what the rest of the season does for sales, and decide whether to reveal any new models later rather than sooner" approach. That said, this winter's lack of snow may cause YMC to refrain from releasing any new models if dealer inventory is really high nationwide. But then again I don't know what sort of loyalty YMC has to its dealers, so who knows if any of this really matters.

Thanks for the updates. Nice to see that the 2017 MY sleds will be there.
Hope that there is more than the usual BNG.
Time for a game changer, not more graphics, and higher prices.

As far as a game changer, who knows?. Bng?, more chances of that. And as far as pricing, get ready for a sticker shock, with the low Cdn dollar imports will certainly cost more.

I agree. Glad I bought a new sled last fall. LOL
Probably 20K CDN, with taxes in and OTD for a new Apex, IF they are still making Apexes.
Strong rumor that doo has a 180-190 HP factory turbo sled, just waiting to be released, in the wings, hope it is released this spring.
Going to be a tough year for all manufacturers to sell new sleds, of the same old, same old variety, since very few sledders have even had their sleds out on the trails this season.
It,s going to take game changers to convince sledders to trade this spring.

X2, a real new Apex if introduced will cost $20000+ in 2017/18 and that's without a turbo.

Just a hunch, but here is what I think is coming for MY 2017.
The silence from the industry not only from Yamaha but all MFG's is quite a statement in my opinion. Everyone from the sled mags, industry insiders, dealers, and our Yamaha sled blogger CR, it's pretty much complete mum. I take a couple of things from this (as a hunch). First, yes the sled sales may have been slow this year so far because of lack of snow conditions; therefore not dropping any mid season hints or spy pics somehow convinces us the consumer nothing new is coming for 2017, (BGN) so you may as well not wait and snatch up a significantly reduced $ 2016. Therefore (hopefully) the inventory shrinks by March. Second, I think the 4 MFG's may have some sort of "gentleman's" agreement and will release the new sleds either all together or within days of each other, that way they would generate a lot of interest/excitement for the whole industry in a short period of time at the end of the season rather than a little buzz here at Yamaha showing an extreme close up pic of "Sidewinder" tracks in the sand early in January, or a little buzz there with Ski-Doo releasing a 2016.5 mid-season 1200 or 900 turbo. Also, I think the lineups must be set fairly early on when the known snow conditions or inventory levels would not be know yet, meaning If one of them has something new and is in full speed ahead for 2017 release I don't believe the plug would get pulled in the middle of January because of low snow conditions in the early season.
So, I do believe we will see many "new" sled models/engines for MY 2017. To me the key tell all is the silence, it's some kind of Jedi mind trick.
After all who could forget these tracks in the sand?

Supposedly, Yamaha is having a sled ride in Hammond, Ontario on Sat. Jan.23, 2016.
Someone on here stated that they will be bringing 2017 MY sleds.
Can anyone actually confirm that this info is true.
I would bet that they will be bringing 2016 MY, NOT 2017.
