Dont love the viper, I like them. I like the motor. And non turbo vs non turbo the yamaha wins by a lot and stock with turbo vs stock with turbo Yamaha wins by bunch. Yes the cat can take bit more power before needing internals. But once done the Yamaha goes back on top. And personally I love the sound of the apex, really like sound of nytro/viper motors and think the industrial sound of the cat is kinda repulsive. Love or hate my opinion but that's just what it is, an opinion. The cat 5000 outweighs front of my nytro that's for sure. Almost hurt my back lifting that bit my nytro I move around all the time. Commend the cat if you want but not a fan of the Suzuki 4 strokes or even the brp ones.
Stock with turbo has Warranty. I read the disclaimer on the Viper Turbo setup. I'm just not a real fan of the Viper or the Nytro. I'm not a fan of the Cat but if I had to ride Cat that would be my choice. This is all speculation based on current chassis and really I think I could ride Apex's for at least 10 more years. I too love the sound of that motor.

I think he was asking YOU to post the actual proof that YOU have. I.e., a copy of the Powersports Business Market Research Data Book 2014 or a link to it.

Well the Internet is alive and well. The source (one source anyway) was provided. If he doesn't believe me or won't take the time to do some research that others have done then I guess it will be his loss. You can also find this number in at least one snowmobile mag. Try Snowtech Or he can not believe and call BS. Lol I'm okay with that

Not sure what is so critical about my post that needs a reference. Put whatever numbers you want in my statement. Point is Yamaha chose a 4 stroke only strategy for sleds and they are last in market share and needed a AC chassis to make them relevant. Yamaha has stated they want to see more viable profits before investing in future sled development. If after ten years of the best 4 strokes on the market gets you last in market share its time to change your strategy and provide 2 strikes to those that want them. No reference required.

From what my dealer has told me what you say is very accurate. Only time will tell if Yamaha chooses to do anything about their position. I still remember the 5 new sleds and 5 new motors in the next 5 years at the 2014 Viper intro, promising all they are in sleds for the long term??????????Not sure what is so critical about my post that needs a reference. You say that Yamaha has a 10% market share and BRP clams to sell more 4 strokes then anyone, and you still have Cat adding to the mix, 20% seems low to me. I do not have the actual numbers as you say to have and have looked and just come up with information on forums with nothing to back it up, but I'm not going to pay $80.00 to find out. You could be right I'm just looking for proof of actual info because i would like to know myself, and I'm sure others would also.
ROTAX 4-STROKE ENGINES
POWERFUL, EFFICIENT, EASY
BRP is no stranger to 4-stroke technology – BRP-Rotax is known all over the world for exceptional 4-stroke engines, from watercraft to superbikes.
And in snowmobiling, we sell more 4-stroke-powered sleds than any other manufacturer*.
Thanks to the awesome trail performance of the 130 horsepower 1200 4-TEC engine and the ultra-efficient and ultra low maintenance ACE family.
*Based on retail sale results as of December 31, 2014.

When you can go and buy a 550 fan Polaris for $6000.00 is it because its a 2 stroke or is it strictly price? If Yamaha built a 4 stroke with 60 hp keep it light and bare bones for $6-6500.00 would it sell??

Whatever the new sled is... I bet it's Yamaha built but also in ACs lineup

I'm hoping that they build somekind of revolutionary new drive system, that bolts straight to engine/crankshaft and there to one driveshaft that spins the track. Less rotational mass, less power loss, less weight due new chassis configurations, etc...

Cats 9000 does exist! Lol!
???????????????
Again, i just have to laugh.
Pretty sure you stated you did not want a sled built by cat.
You were talking about jumping ship for a rumored skidoo turbo ss
If we are going to dream about fantasy sleds that dont exist, Why not dream up your fantasy apex (like is being done with the doo ss) and jump onto one of those?
