IMO.....we all want the we don't got......4s riders want LIGHT WEIGHT......2s ers want RELABILITY......
I truly believe that a bold move is coming....
Look at what Yamaha has brought first to market within the last 3 yrs..... SxS with 5psd Manuel.....900 triple sub 400lbs and under $8k Canadian(FZ-09) ....first crossplane inline 4 that has now been one upped with full on MGP electronics pkg.....reverse cyl YZF 4st.......
This company is proud, thinks different, and is brave enough to walk the walk .....
Give us 4s big torque, high mileage Y quality, in a sub 450lb dry, 129" groomed trail eater and I WILL be first in line
Let's go Blue!!!!

Would the sidewinder circles represent the crossplane platform in some way? Haven't researched it just curious.

That's an interesting observation. If they came out with something completely amazing perhaps they could bypass the whole 2 stroke market? Is it possible for them to get a lightweight 4 stroke motor in the 160-180 hp range? I don't know enough about engine manufacturing to offer an opinion. It would be really exciting to see them just hit it out of the park and then watch all the chatter on the other forums. Fingers crossed!Would the sidewinder circles represent the crossplane platform in some way? Haven't researched it just curious.

I've heard international harvesters that sound better than a 5000-9000 cats. When you can get the viper in green or blue why would you even wanna consider the 9000. It's only use is for drag racing and yamahas are killing it there too.Cats 9000 does exist! Lol!

I'm putting my money on the articulated front suspension. Its the only thing that warrants the comment "You ain't seen nothing yet." in the video. They already patented the design a few years ago. The circles in the sand represent the front strut pivot points IMHO.

Never said anything about same chassis although I like the current chassis for the riding I do. I want a Yamaha built chassis. Not Cat copy. Cat suspension OK Cat chassis no. It has to be built for the Apex engine. I went Yamaha for that engine, I like the upgrade to the engine and I like rear exhaust. You really want to see them continuing with the apex chassis? I can't remember a chassis so in need of replacing. I'm all for the Cat / Yami partnership as long as we see Yami fit and finish in the next model.
If you've had faith in Yami in the past, have faith in their decision to partner with Cat. We could see some amazing products in the next few years.
Faith in Yamaha has nothing to do with anything. Faith in Cat to build Yamaha quality sled is more what your asking for. I agree we could see some amazing machines in the future.

Yep everything Cat builds in the 5000 to 9000 range sounds like crap including the 7000 of course. Might as well run a twin if I have go to less then four.I've heard international harvesters that sound better than a 5000-9000 cats. Humorous that you would run down the Cat that is as bullet proof or maybe more so then anything Yamaha has in its lineup. Even funnier is you put the Viper on a higher pedestal as a superior machine to it.
I get it you like Vipers! Stock Viper will not kill the Cat.

Yamaha needs to make 2 strokes. It is simple. You can not ignore 80% of the market. Total 4-stroke sales make up about 20% of all sled sales. Yamaha has been making the best 4-stroke sleds in the market for the last decade and that has resulted in a 10% market share. Thats not enough for the bean counters at Yamaha to invest in sled development. Yamaha 4-strokes have not failed. The Yamaha strategy of 4-stroke only sleds and completely abandoning the 2-stroke sleds was the mistake. Not many of us on here want to go back to the 2-Stroke but there are plenty of people out there who would buy a Yamaha built 2-stroke sled. That leads to more profits for Yamaha and better 4-strokes for us. Its time for Yamaha to swallow some pride and end the stubbornness of proving they can be successful building only 4-strokes.

Dont love the viper, I like them. I like the motor. And non turbo vs non turbo the yamaha wins by a lot and stock with turbo vs stock with turbo Yamaha wins by bunch. Yes the cat can take bit more power before needing internals. But once done the Yamaha goes back on top. And personally I love the sound of the apex, really like sound of nytro/viper motors and think the industrial sound of the cat is kinda repulsive. Love or hate my opinion but that's just what it is, an opinion. The cat 5000 outweighs front of my nytro that's for sure. Almost hurt my back lifting that bit my nytro I move around all the time. Commend the cat if you want but not a fan of the Suzuki 4 strokes or even the brp ones.Yep everything Cat builds in the 5000 to 9000 range sounds like crap including the 7000 of course. Whatever comes in the future keep the 4cyl, ditch the 3cyl motor. Thanx.
