All they had to do was change the name in 2017 and everyone would have been happy. Well, they sort of did... It was called Procross II. Kind off lame, but that's what they did. Thats what Polaris did with the Matrix!

If you think that the 2012 Pro0cross is the same as the 2021 then you have never driven both. Heck the 2020 drives different than the 2019. Yes, there are things that need changing but they are different, and better, than years before.
With time they upgraded side panels, wiring routes, coolant hose route and suspension. Did they upgraded the paint on metal parts? They say BRP age very well due in part to this. How is the Sidewinder after some miles? I'm curious.

Ya but my sled doesn’t weigh more than 2000 lbs and I’m on slippery snow. If my daughter at 120 lbs has no problem you old guys must be out of shape. I’m old no problem steering just saying,
It’s got nothing to do with being hard to steer. I’m sure you can drive a pickup truck with no power steering as well, but which would you rather? Is reverse for us old guys out of shape to? It’s convenience and unless you’ve tried a sled with it, you don’t know what you are missing.

So true, I had a 2012 Turbo Cat and hated that sled, couldn't get rid of it quick enough. Worst handling and riding machine I can remember owning. It acted so tippy and always wanted to buck you off at ever opportunity. Such a POS I didn't think I'd ever own another Cat, and here I am riding a 2017 and I won't give it up. Such a transformation it's unbelievable.

Incremental changes go a long way, in many cases much better then an entire new chassie, where you can be 'back to the drawing board.'
Hopefully YAM is addressing some of the issues behind the scenes, and EPS is cherry on top. I have seen CAT has leaked some info and it does look like they have NEW CLUTCHES, both primary and secondary. Question remains are they made by TEAM still or Cat now? March 3rd Cat will reveal so we will know soon.

Those minor improvements were all nice. But I'm talking reliability issues. Cat has now put nylon webbed covered coolant hose's in the front tunnel but the hoses are still exposed, needs Barn of Parts coolant hose guards for piece of mind. Still the same ""PISS POOR DESIGNED"" chain case and drive axle. DMC top gear should fix the top gear bushing issue, tack weld tension roller screws while apart for piece of mind and Barn of Parts drive shaft wedge for the brake side bearing to fix that ""ONGOING"" inevitable problem!!! New panels, electronic shocks, heated rollover valve and switch gear are nice but don't mean squat when your sled is in the shop for repairs for known drive train issues, and most likely parts are on back order! For the amount of money we pay for these ""TOYS"", we shouldn't have to rely on Travis at BOP, DMC gear or the guy's here on TY to fix these Cat problems!!! Has Cat improved the Pro-Cross since 2012, no doubt. But IMO the major issues have been ignored. Well said went for a ride today with my Wife. She is suffering from long haul COVID now. First time this season I got her on her sled. She did fine physically. I am 61 1/2 years old my Left shoulder is getting weak from 43 years of wrenching. If My Vector did not have power steering. I would be done. If the new Procross sleds have YCCT programmable throttle I would be all over it. So would she. When we stopped for a break today. I told her that the power steering on our sleds was good enough. That Yamaha was introducing it on the Yamacats! She stated maybe we should trade in. I told her they are not reliable. Of course she said you can fix it. At least we have options. But the updated shock on the Singleshot. To me is very impressive! My favorite SUV was my 2001 Range Rover. Rode on air. Now we have a 2014 Jeep Trailhawk. Love it. But does not ride as good as the Range Rover did. Just seat of the pants opinion. P. S. I have installed SLP Mohawks on both Vectors. Thanks to this site. Last year I put doubledown carbides on her Slydog Powderhounds. Today she was not happy. That her new Mohawks. Did not have them on. Thanks for all the help on here!

Did anyone back when the Apex came out with EPS look to see if this could be added to the previous Apex. Just wondering if this can be added to the newer Winders-cats or if it has to be programmed or rewired?
Considering how much we often have invested it might be nice to just add instead of trading.

@JMS@Yamaha As snowmobile product manager - how 'bout a teaser if not a statement on some of the common weak points since we know you are here for watching. What a shame it would be if Yamaha and Textron ignored the universally agreed best snomo info website's resources. Most of the "true-blue" faithful's resistance to the current offerings are these foibles.

I am 70+ now, and I moved on from a Vector to a Procross back in 2015, and I would never go back. My buddy also has a Sidewinder, and still has his 2011 Vector. I rode my Sidewinder yesterday, and he rode his Vector. The trails were beat. He got off his Vector, and said, "I am so glad I rode it, now I know why I love my Sidewinder so much." So, I will Add this because I think it matters! This last week We did a big 3 day trip and I was smart and took an extra sled . My 2017 #*$&@ Doo 1200 MXZX Secondary clutch took a #*$&@ ( rollers)
Anyone that has worked on the QRS secondary Knows It's a big pain in the Rear and you need special tools to get it done. I could have changed my buttons on the Vectors clutch while my brother was in taking a dump! End of Rant ! but not the end of my ride . I hauled out the wife's 2008 Vector and took it for a 200+ mile ride and it never missed a beat ! Yes it doesn't take the monster bumps like the R-motion but it was nothing I complained about . And on the big fields I was neck and neck with my Brothers 1200. I'll be keeping both of my Vectors
