NEW ECU

Is a brand new ECU from Yamaha plug and play, or does it need to be flashed by the dealer to function?

I probably should have gone with a used ECU, but a brand new, updated version ECU is currently reasonably priced, so I went new. Hopefully, it doesn't need to be programmed, since many of the Yamaha dealers in my area have closed their doors.
A search on this forum hasn't given me a solid answer on this. Has anyone replaced their ECU with a new one, and did it require dealer programming?

Just has to be right Part # since it is Driver size specific. Engine hrs are stored in there also.
