new headgasket no start

How far did you tear the head down when you yanked it off? Did you pull the cups off the valves after removing the cams?

no left the cups in and zip tied some rubber coolant hose in where the cams would sit so they wouldn't move when i turned the head over to clean and inspect it. I made sure they couldnt move.

That is too wild... I'll ask around, inquiring minds want to know...

No start

Nope. Was not coil wires. Harness was still attached to the steering hoop cross bar, so they couldn't have reached the other coils. It's tight in there. It would be hard to mix those up. Just the valve adjustment was all that was needed.
Had a small problem after that with it running on three cylinders. Turns out I over tightened a plug and stretched it enough that the gap was off. Remember to use a torque wrench on those little plugs. You'd be surprised how little torque they need.
She's running good now though. I Shimmed the head so i'm looking to add another pound of boost or two. Anyone have a 22tooth top pulley they want to get rid of?
Thanks for the help everyone.

If you have no valve clearance you will leak compression due to partially open valves. No compression, no fire.

FYI - all engines I have ever worked on needed valve clearance adjustment. Food for thought.

Guys, please do as most turbo install guides says, check and adjust valve clearance when you install your turbokit.
