Hello everyone. I am new to the forum and this is my first post here. Don't mean to start off negative but I am concerned about the weight of this sled. I have been a Skidoo owner my entire life and decided to try a new Yamaha. I weighed it today ready to ride with full tank of gas and it came in at 640. When I saw this it made me concerned as I didn't think it would be that much.

Thoughts?

Thank you for any feedback

Can I ask what you assume it weighed?

I don't mean to sound like an @$$ but I plan to ride mine and not tote it around on my back so I don't see a problem. Also when ever you see someone off in the trees it's either a Doo or a Poo leading me to believe they don't handle as well as those doo guys think. On a lighter note welcome to the Yamaha side of things. I think you will love the sled. Yes the seating position will be different then you are used to. But I think all your worries will be gone once you feel the torque/throttle response you will get from the SW vs anything else. Also it may not seem like a big deal but not having to be other adding oil all the time is sooo nice. Nothing beats gearing up, hopping on, turning the key and BRAAP.

Running trails-- weight is not as big a factor .. Now if you like to go off trail IMO weight is a bigger issue. Look out west-- mountain riding? What do you see for sleds and what do they weigh?
I guess it depends on your riding style also(trails) , But set up correctly this Winder will rail.

I put a scale under each ski and the track, total weight was 640lbs.
You said you were concerned it was 640. I was asking where you thought a turbo 3 cyl 4 stroke sled would come in at.

recent history...2014 mxxx....cant get much lighter eh? 2016 zr9000 ltd 137" 10-25 lbs heavier than the LTX LE...Im 180 veggie burgers...it was a blast to ride...never felt heavy..and in general was the funnest sled Ive owned...the only beef...body panels...fit and finish...and the sound of the motor..I know its dumb..but its important to me...you will love this sled set up properly..unless you are lifting it in the garage..

Like a few guys have said .... once you squeeze the throttle you will not believe what your scale said! I am very confident you will fall in love.

This is what matters more than wieght.
