is the apex mountain going to be a lemon? i have the red apex mountain and the only issue i have so far is the hand warmers. but i have read some verry disconcerting problems with the track and clearance problems. to me after a 20 year absence from snomachining this sled rocks! im a pretty light guy around 130-150 depending on how im eating so i dont think i will overload the suspension. but what if my 200lb pluss brotherinlaw rides it? or say the wife and i? im hoping the problems are not going to taint the experience. im not whining i just hope the factory "yamaha" fixes these problems the hand warmers are something i can live with but hoping for a fix. and i hope the track clearance wont be a problem for me. btw its awesome the power is incredible!

my dealer ship called me and had me bring my sled in and they fixed it free of charge they also re weighted the clutch cause it was reving out to fast and high.

Roy, I don't like the Lemon title of this post. I'm sure Yamaha will have a fix for the handwarmers.
As for your other issues, it sounds like you have internet issues and not actual problems with your sled.
I retitled you post. Thanks

you are so right, im still verry happy with my rocket and i went with yamaha because of the four stroke and the overall fit finish and quality of the sled. all of my info comes from ty. we should try"less whining and more riding"

they took it and cut down the exaust bracket in the tunnel so it only hangs down like half a inch and then tey had a sheil that they had bent up and they rievted that under the exaust so the track couldnt snag on anything.

I wonder if this repair approach is the factory approach or you just have a great dealer who is taking matters into his own hands...?

I have just over 300 miles on mine and I have not had any problems at all (other than the handwarmers not being as warm as my RX1)
This is the best sled for my riding needs. Would I like it to be lighter? Sure, but I would not trade my (stock) Apex for any other sled (new stock) out there.
IMO Yamaha is on the right track with these sleds. I would like to see them lose some lbs each of the next few years (10-15 lb per year) on the Apex and also build this sled for my wife:
Deltabox 2 or similar chassis
100-120hp 4 stroke
144-151" long 16" wide Maverick Track
500lb or lighter

I would't say that a sled with handwarmer problems or a track rubbing a bit is a lemon. A "lemon" is an RMK with known Crank problems or a Rev with ring problems. Just my $.02

yes i would agree trxter i have always liked a four over a two stroke in the small village of 250 people i was one of the few people that bought a four-stroke fourwheeler and the one i bought is still running the two strokes are landfill, there was a day when i would not even think of buying a yamaha fourwheeler" hondas are the only thing worth paying money for" my dad said but the machine i have now has definetly changed my mind on a quad. the motor in the apex will last forever with good maintence and things like the track clearance and hand warmers compared to motors going south are trivial. first hand warmers ive ever had just expected them to work i guess
