If you decide to get some simmons skis give me a PM I have two sets (but only one are in decent shape). I would be willing to part with the good set with two seasons in the deep powder of the mountains and my Yamaha Mounts once I get my PPD skis in two weeks. I also have a brand new set of wear rods for them that will be included. The wear rods appear to be the standard offered with the skis. This would be a 4" cutter and a 5 1/2" standard carbide for each ski.

Keep your eyes open in the swap meet section shortly. I'll take some pics of them once they are off the sled to show the condition of the underside. My wife has never hit a boulder like have as the lead dog.

Here are a couple shots of the top and one of the new wear rods. The black wings on the outside edge of the ski (Simmons Powder Wings)are to help with turning in fresh powder when the carbides can't bite.

BLUEDOG I bought it from a dealer about 1 1/2 hours away, he faxed me an invoice to sign and I mailed a Deposit check this morning. I bought it for $8040 w/ cover + tax, and I didn't have to jew with them at all. Hopefully I did ok

Really glad you got such a nice deal...I'd like to know if they have another one and what dealership to contact...

but I think these words are offensive.... "I didn't have to jew with them at all."

sj sorry about the offences! I bought it from max pitts in peru indiana (765-472-2423)and yes they have more rtx's. Also in my quest to find a sled a dealer in jefferson wisconsin (rock river powersports 920-674-9280) had some great deals and seemed fair to deal with.

Congrats, bought my first 4-S last season, I have to admit that it would be hard to give up this motor..............now if we could only loose another 35 lbs between the skis, this sled would absolutly ROCK

This is my first post. Spring ordered a 2007 Apex ER, can't wait for it to arrive. Have owned and ridden Yamaha sleds for 12+ years. I still have a 1995 Vmax 600 (probably sell it this fall), and a 1999 Vmax 600 Deluxe (will keep for my son to ride). Was able to test drive an Attak last winter - took several hours for me to get that smile off my face. I got concerned after reading the posts on this site with many of the problems people seem to be having. I keep going back to Yamaha because of the quality - both of my other sleds have over 6000 miles on them apiece. Haven't had to do anything outside of regular wear and maintenance items. I expect to have to put in a stiffer spring in the Monoshock RA suspension - I'm 300+ pounds with gear, but otherwise expected to have minimal problems. So, am I in for a disappointment? Kinda tough to spend about $10k on a new toy and have to worry about potential problems.
