when i lifted front off the ground the springs had 5/8 slop to retainer, i thought they should be at the least snug so the retainer cant come out, also the front of skis are pointing down, if i reverse the rubber block then they point slightly, please help

I would at least make them touch and then 1 full turn on the nuts.
