Well, after a year hiatus from Yamaha, I purchased a new to me, 2017 Sidewinder LTX with the Hurricane 270 flash. It has a CAI, and stock mod muffler. I am stoked! I have read alot about the Turbo Dynamics but not much about the Hurricane. Anyone have experience with the Hurricane setup?

I have a Hurricane SM Tune Bundle in my 18 50th Annuversary. Very happy with it. Had mine Dynoe’d, and the tunes are completely legit...my 270 tune dynoe’d at 275HP.
So congratulations and enjoy! Nothing like it out there... You’re gonna be doing a lot of smiling this winter!

Dalton set up, black/green primary, and Dalton Qay70 weights set at 73.1 grams; and 41/35 Dalton helix, with Dalton black/orange spring set at 6-1, and heavy duty Secondary Rollers.
But, I think I’m going with a TAPP Primary and Pro 4 Secondary for this season. It’s gonna be expensive, but I’m not a fan of the stock clutching on our Winders...especially when tuned up like many of us are.
oh and MPG is fine if you drive it reasonably. If I’m on the 270 tune, and I’m jumping on it alot, it’ll start to guzzle more obviously. But nothing over the top like you’d think with power of that magnitude.

Same set up I have in my 19. 108MPH is all it will run flat out. I'm not happy with mine.

That’s way to slow..even for a stock Winder, let alone tuned. Where are your R’s on top end?
I had to lighten up my weights from 78 grams, down to 73.1 grams to get it to turn 8900 on the 270 tune.
before I lightened it up, it only turned 8450, but still saw 117-118mph on the Speedometer. Once I lightened her up, it was a total beast. Never got to test the top speed again last winter, but it was a big difference turning 8900. And was noticeably faster all around.
Something isn’t right there if you’re only getting 108.

Hurricane tunes are always backed up on the dyno. Usually dyno numbers on the in house dyno are on the low side so you can expect advertised numbers plus.I have a Hurricane SM Tune Bundle in my 18 50th Annuversary. Very happy with it. Good to know. Ya, I saw higher numbers when I dynoe’d mine as you mentioned. That’s always nice, when a product delivers, and in this case(Hurricane) “Overdelivers!”

When was the tune put in it? Does it show boost on the dash hour meter?
The first tunes didn't have all the knock protection in them. If it has the boost in the hour meter on dash you should be good.
If not it can be updated if you have a flasher.

Yeah something is definitely not right. What tune is it? What are you seeing for boost? I'd bet on a boost leak

What model? BTX? What gearing?8900 top end RPM'S The dealer that installed the tune and clutching spent 2 1/2 weeks trying to get it to go faster, finally he said that's all it's got.
