No spark on 2008 Yamaha phazer

Have no spark on my 2008 Yamaha phazer. It happened suddenly as we had spark and then just quit on us. Seems like the ground block may have been faulty however still doesn't spark when put up to frame. Also important to note this didn't have the ground block update. Will the update be honoured? Also wondering what other things could cause this problem? Could anybody explain the path of key to plug spark? This would give us an idea where power could be cutting out. Thanks in advance.

Supposedly they will but you can also do it yourself just soldering the affected wires as per the bulletin.

There is also the ground wire that goes from the battery to a connector. It sometimes corrodes or gets loose. That one usually throws an er-1 error on the gauge pod.

As for how power gets through the ignition switch, best would be to download the repair manual and look at the schematics. Check the FAQ.
