Im just purchasing my first 4 stroke a 07 left over 136" Attack with the mono skid Ohlin EC.
Just reading over the site for a few days trying to figure some of the problems out. How bad is this skid, are people still having prblems with it.
Do the shock valving mods work with the Ohlin?
Also the 07 grip warmers. Are they any good and what mods work if you have a 07.
I have not ridden mine wet and due to pick it up this coming friday.

The cold grips will be about the worst, around here its normal riding in 10 to 20 below.

Thanks Nathan

The handwarmers aren't brilliant but they do produce some heat. I use gauntlets when it gets really cold and my hands stay very warm using them.

The suspension works quite well. What some people have had problems with is bottoming it out. Depending upon your weight, you may need a spring that is more aligned with your weight.

Welcome to the site, you'll love your Attak.
I've been riding mine in Fbks. for 3 years now and wouldn't have anything else.
There are a few issues with the skid, but with a little tweaking it'll work for you. I'm not too sure about the '07 bars, mine is an '06 w/'07 wiring harness and they'll darn near melt your gloves.

Anyways, if you have any questions at all about what works best up here pm me.

You can find out these little tweaks by searching through all the threads of people trying to make the mono better. Popular fixes are to either get a stiffer spring, or by moving the C-clip on the shock. The ohlins EC might not have the C-clip so a "big boy" spring will do. There is an entire listing of big boy springs in the FAQ section.

Also, many people have added either more or other brand idler wheels to their skid to help with slider wear. Graphite sliders are common as well...

In all, the mono as it comes is a very good trail skid.

Bashly

Bashly, from riding around town have you found that its not a good off trail machine. Im thinking of going to a deep lug track immidately from the dealer.
Not sure but my first mods are going to be a skid plate, possably a track and mybie some power mufflers.

Wider ski's are a MUST. I have Slydog Powderhounds and am very satisfied. Float the sled and my 330 lbs. (dressed out) very wel. Great trail ski as well. Running Bergstrom 8" triplepoints. I changed my track to 1.25 Predator and it does pretty good. I does take a COMPLETELY different style of riding to get around off trail. Steady throttle. By that I mean don't chop it when slowing and don't nail it hard when first taking off. I found the smoother I was with the throttle, the better the sled got up and stayed up on top of the snow. Hope this helps ya" ;)!

Wider skis are a must. I am running C7A XT's. Great for the powder. I switched to an 1.5 track and I get along fine in the off trail.

My 06 Attak is the best all around sled I have owned. Pound the trails and go through the woods. I love it

:-o :-o :-o :-o :-o

I also have the 07 attak. Very good machine rode good stock but would bottom hard on washouts. I have the ohlins shock. Sent it to pioneer performance last year for revalve and bigger spring. There was night and day difference in the ride. Wouldn't bottom out and in stuters it rode awesome. Price for everything me removing the shock and reinstalling was 210.00 plus shipping. You won't be dissapointed.
