This weekend i installed a Camplast 2" finger track on my xtx. The track appears to be the "notched" design to clear the tunnel protector. I was goign to remove the protectors but am hesitatnt to cute them off and create a latger issue.

The track fits and moves cleanly. Thir is maybe an 1/8" clearance between the protector and the "notched" section of the track.

My question is this enough? Should the protectors be removed. Should I cut down the track slightly more?

Anyone have any experiance with this?

this was the plan but i had the infamous broken drive shaft bolt. boxed up the parts and dropped it off for the dealer to deal with under warranty. I will let you know what happens. just do not want to damage anything. called me today and said they may want to just replace the shaft. maybe i can get 8" drivers out of them

thanks yammi4ever. i may be interested but have no idea what to even offer you?

anyway. got the sled back and all seems well. thing pulls the most insane wheelies. now how to keep the skis down in the corners. lets the adjustments begin....

9889M Camoplast Mountain Finger Design Track

It cleared the tunnel protectors where it was notched but for additional saftey factory i did trim just the notched section an additional quarter inch.

i ran it all weekend with no issues. sled is incredible on the trail. very little track spin and a lot of hook up. my ripsaw is officially retired.

I need to get a bigger lug track since I'm going out west at the end of the month. I dont really want to run my cobra with 144 studs. So I was looking at the 2" notched camoplast challenger. I'm assuming the track you have would have the same notched design.

Did you leave in all your tunnel protectors? the front heat exchanger protectors and the top tunnel protectors?

I think I have to remove the protectors to run the 1.5 intense correct?

2" notched track will fit. I removed no parts. I was hesitant to cut the protectors off the heat exchanger. No modifications required. The track did fit but I trimmed the notched section Of the track an extra quarter inch as a safety factor. A 1.5 will fit no problem. Heading west myself next week cannot wait.

I think they have been discontinued. I found a new/used track on ebay. Your other option would be to go with a 2" and change your drivers to an 8" diameter. if you do this you will not need to remove any of the tunnel protectors also.

How are you guys making out with your tracks?

Track is working well. Had it in Montana and I was eating up the xtx with the ripsaw. Highmarked ok but it is a lot of sled to get high. Arms were crazy sore from throwing this thing around. Though it is fully clipped I ate up my slides on the 20 miles of trail I had to ride. Also had some overheat issues but the yamaha dealer out there installed ice scratchers and those issues were solved. No regrets so far.

I also took out my front a arm on a guard rail. Little bent up but she rode on with no issues. Sub frame seems to be ok. Summer repair.
