Well boys. It's ON!!! Just started taking apart my newest project, a 2003 RX-1. Bought this sled with a blown engine, so will have to build the engine all up again... The plan is to put a 144" ADBoivin ZX2 suspension, rider forward, under tunnell exhaust, and osme lightweight parts on it...at the moment it's stretched to 136" from the original 121"...

Sorry for the low qual pics and a bit messy garage. Currently updating ground floor in the barn, so first floor will be a bit messy until it's done...

The sled when I brought it home

next is chaning out the broken parts in the motor, once I open it up and have a look, I'll tell what needs to be changed...

Now..I think I'll relocate the battery and get one of those oil filter kits from Ulmer... I'm looking for some newer a-arms too...

and..DANG this sled is front heavy, even with the motor out...

Should be fun though...

oh, and if anybody has an airfilter kit they want to get rid of, I'm looking for one...

Nice to see that someone still think that the old rx-ton is one of the nicest sleds around for mods :-o

Well...I've got 5 sleds in the garage now ready for some mods.... :)

The Nytro will be the most fun I guess...

But, all parts for the 1-ton is so cheap, that it's actually more fun to mod it...and all the mods that's being made will make it ALOT better....

The Nytro will just be scary fast....

Hi there buddy, great to see your workshop is coming into good use :) The old RX can be made to be a great performer, it takes a lot of mods tho, but it can be done.

Install a R1 bike battery in your sled, it saves 3.1 kg on the battery and another 1.0 kg on removing the battery bracket. Relocate the battery down into the bulkhead between the two crossbars in the bulkhead frame, fits nicely. Take a look in my rxrider's rx-1 turbo thread.

I painted the last two walls in my garage today, finished two layers of paint, need another layer and I'm done painting. All walls and roof are painted white :)

It will be very fun to see you smoke some t-apex and t-nytros with that old tank. :die

You bet he will hahaha

Been there done that. I have already smoked turboed Apex'es with my '03 rear mount MCX turbosaurus RX. Going front/mid-mount will not slow me down I guess :)

I guess obr's FX Nytro will kick some #*$&@ if he goes boosted haha

Well boys..the Powderlites turbo for the Nytro is ordered!!!! Stage 2 should REALLY kick some SERIOUS A$$!!!

RX will get exhaust, ECP kit, zx2, mountain mod seat, rider forward, slp ski's. and so on... Just a nice boondocker RX-1... I wonder if the Hartman extention for the Apex will fit the RX-1...I've got one for the Apex in my garage..might have to look at that...

Jan-Ove: I'll come over and check your sled out closer and get some pointers on the zx-2...might even just bring it over and we'll innstall it together if that's ok with you... spending a day in lax vegas sounds like fun to me... :)

ps, your sled will be displayed in the next issue...I just need one more photo...

The Hartman will fit, they share the same frame so no problem there. Just bring it over, we'll install it in no time :)

Haha Lax Vegas that's new to me, we use to refer to Lakselv as Lakseby or Salmon City in english. The Lakselva river holds the lagerst average Salmon stock of any Norwegian rivers, average weight of 5.3 kgs per salmon, pretty good don't you think :)

Thanks, One problem less..what about the oem hitch? Will it fit with the hartman ext?

LOL..that's what we call GRILLS in Alta River...there's been over 100 salmon caught this far...biggest was a 15 year old girl that pulled a 23.4 kilo's salmon!!!!

Powder lites stage 2 for the nytro :jump:

YEPP!!! should be fun....going to complete the RX before i start on the Nytro...If we're fast enoguh, it might be done ready for the last grass drags of the season...

Guess the hitch will not fit without some modding, but it shouldn't be too diffecult to adapt the stock hitch to the Hartman tunnel ext. What can be different is the angle the Hartman tilt compared to a stock RX-1 tunnel, but a little cutting and welding should fix it.

We'll se...noy sure I need a hitch either...Haven't trailered anything after the sleds the last few years... And when we spend thousands of dollars on lightweight parts, it doesn't really make sence to have that heavy piece of steel on the back...LOL

Just paypalled for rider-forward, mountain mod seat, fly risers/bars, powderpro skis and epc/evac kit.

Now I just need under tunnell exhaust, some clutching, and mixed bits and parts, and I think we're ready for the assembly....

If you are using the Hartman tunnel ext. - take a look at the tow hitch setup to Lynx ranger mountain, or the Ski-doo ZX-chassie setups. They use them same rear bumper.
