Wow, it's amazing how spoiled we get riding these sleds. I have two Apexes, one '06 GT and one '06 ER (wife's) and a 2002 Viper. I haven't really ridden the Viper for a couple years - it's just been a spare (or a rainy day long track project that never happened). Well, I finally decided it was taking up too much space in the garage and decided to get rid of it. I had CPR pipes, M-10, etc. Rather than lose my arse I took off all the aftermarket goodies and put it back to completely stock including installation of the old "No-action" rear skid prior to putting it up for sale. Tonight we went out for a quick 50 mile shake down ride to make sure everything was working well before I put it on the market. Holy crap, I think I might need a kidney transplant after taking some normal UP forest road stutter bumps that my GT wouldn't even feel. Back when I rode the Viper all the time I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, especially with the M-10. It's completely amazing to me the difference a few years makes. That old triple 700 is pretty sweet but you couldn't give me 4 of them as trade for my Apex. Of all the sleds I've ridden over the years, overall I would have a tough time finding one that comes even close to the Apex. It's nice to get that "new sled grin" every time I fire it up.

I know what you mean. I was not able to ride my apex for one weekend this whole year (exhaust donuts) during that weekend I took out a 01 polaris XC 500. When I get on those sleds I feel like I am riding a cruiser with your knees right by your hands. That polaris has decent suspension as well, but it still feels very old. Back end sways around as well a couple inches every which way as well as compared to the ripsaw track.

I LOVE my 07 RTX. BEst sled I have ever ridden. One day I switched with my girlfriend(bad idea) and rode here viper. Needless to say, every time we ride now I ride the viper. It's not a bad sled but where I really miss my RTX is when the trails get bumpy. Love the Apex!

Yep the Progression from a 04 Warrior to a 06 Attak to a 08 Apex LTX GT has been nothing short of AWESOME. My new 08 is by far the BEST 4 STROKE I've Owned Yet in Every Way, this might just be the last one I own as I LUV THIS ONE

BTW.......You guys with 02 SRX's & 04 Vipers for sale, let me know as I'm lookin for a new Project Sled for my other half.

TK's :yam:

Right on, Bountyhunter. I just had my 3rd weekend on my new 08 Apex LTX GT (1000 miles already) and cannot say enough about it. Had an 03 SkiDoo 800 Renegade and loved it. This motor is a work of art and I love the seating position better than a Rev. With duel carbides it is incredibly stable, hooks up on snow like a demon, no oil to buy and great gas mileage. Clipped my outside ski on a sweeping turn on something under the snow and man, did it cost me. A-arms twisted and ski leg cracked (easy 1000 dollars) and I did not think I hit whatever it was very hard. Part prices are ridiculous compared to the US. Also my skid plate pulled out so back to the dealer I go. Overall, this is a keeper.

Glad to hear Im not the only one with an APEX adiction.
Im actually getting a little depressed haveing to put it away for the season. :drink: :4STroke:

I must admit, I miss my Viper! What a beautiful sled, and the sound that sweet tripple would make was incredible.

Although three years after I sold it I took one for a ride and found a little crest and went to pull the skis up like my Apex, and nothing.... I went to grab all that power I loved so much and it just can not compare to the Apex.

It is still one of my favorite sleds but the Apex is sooo much more fun!

I have a buddy with cats, 04ish, who rode my Apex all the way home on a 60 mile stretch, I never said anything. When we stopped he said, " I think there is as much change in technology in this sled from mine as there was between our 78 cats and my 04's" This is from an Engineer executive.

I LOVE MY APEX AS WELL

I asked him what do you think of all the adds on how heavy they are? He said "what, I never noticed", then," what are they going to say".

Key start, gas and go, power , ride and reliable.......need we say more .......OH YEA FAST ;)!

Yamadoo

Me to Ive had cats with many t-cats over the last 10 years, got a 06 apex last year, sold all the cats, Now have 3 apex,s and a turbo vector. I put on over 5500 miles so far this year and still counting. This sleds are great just gas and go. Of course my handle warms suck, and i have a box of junk spoked wheels, but a small price to for the greatness of this sleds, Never going back!

Put over 1400 miles on my 2008 Apex and the only thing that was done to it all year was the 1st oil change and chain case service...oh and put gas in it....LOL...BZ

Apex's

We have now converted our entire stable to Apex's. 06 GT, 06 ER, 07 RTX and 07 Attak GT. How nice is it to start all 4 sleds in the enclosed trailer and not choke on 2 stroke smokers. The EFI can't be beat, the power, ride and handling (once dialed in) is the best of the best. With a bad back I couldn't ride nearly as much as I do now on the old sleds.
Only down side is having to wait 8 months to ride again.
Never going back to the days of old and really don't miss them at all.

Just bought my first Apex Tuesday. I had to do it. $7500 for a 07 GT???!!!
I took it up to the UP on Wed and Thurs morning to break it in. 530 miles in a day and a half and I was REALLY impressed with the ride on the GT. Those shocks smoke what was on my RX. And the power is fantastic. I has the ECP kit on the RX and this Apex is way faster. Especially on top end. With no picks and bone stock I saw 124 on the dream meter and I think if I held it a bit longer I would have seen more since it was still climbing. I only had 500 miles on it so I did not want to hold it too long. That will be after 1000 miles.

I have 2 questions for you guys.
Bone stock Apex...what are you guys seeing for speeds on the meter with how many miles and what kind of RPM's? I'm thinking after 1-2K I might see a bit more.
As far as RPM's I was seeing 11,100 maybe 11,200 on a hard pull...very good hard pack flat as a board trail.
My RX was set to run at 10,600 with the clutch kit (cpr simmons helix)
I was really surprised at the rpms and how fast this sled is.
Anyone know if that CPR 5 degree helix will do anything for the Apex? I was thinking of trying it next season. Also and decent upgrades for these? I am brand new to the Apex so help me out if you have any tips. I know i will be adding the 06 bars because the handwarmers suck! But what about performance mods????
