Unfortunately "using any good oil" is not enough anymore.
(It was until late last year.)
The ZDDP was reduced/eliminated in regular automotive oils due to it causing problems with catalytic convertors.
The newest API service rating requires lowered levels.
Most newer cars (early 90's on) are not effected because they have roller tappets.
You sled does not have roller tappets, they are flat tappets.
They REQUIRE ZDDP or some alternative to be properly lubricated.
You CAN use diesel oil in your sled, it does lubricate as you need, so if you stated "Any good quality Diesel oil will work", you would be correct, provided it has the proper pour point. (That's the hard part with sleds, most diesel oils are highly viscous.)
Diesel oils are unaffected by the new API rating.
I know the NAPA filters are made by Wix, have no idea about the Amsoil filters.
