My apex oil pump on new engine didn't prime right away and it shut down a few times idling cause of code 30. I got it primed and all seems good. Is there a chance any engine damage was done.
did you put any pressure in the tank to prime it? how long was it idling? if it was only a matter of seconds i cant see it hurting. I always use a air hose and put a little pressure in the oil tank and put the return hose in a clear bottle works everytime, be sure to plug all other holes in the tank if you ever do this.
Likely not. You may have had "inadequate" oil pressure to cause the code 30 but there would have been some oil in the system. All oils adhere to parts to some degree and will protect with virtually no oil pressure for short periods of time. Also, since you were just idling with virtually no load versus WOT operation, I wouldn't loose sleep over it.
Might have cut your engine life from 20,000 miles to 19,992
