I am putting a new track on my 03 rx1 for next year. I was thinking 9818 or 9921 or perhaps a 9854. What do you feel? The 9818 looks the most durable.

Thanks

9854 is a POS, slow and flimsy. 9818/9833 (same track) is excellent for hookup, but delicate. I had one on mine and chunks pulled out of it. I've got a 9923 ripsaw now, same as the 9921 but 144 instead of 121 - so far its really good, all the wear is abrasive (like sandpaper) - no chunks missing. The problem with the 9818/9833 is that the END of the lugs is very thin. May have something to do with the length of the track though - really you have to consider that 121" tracks came in with 600cc @~100hp. Now we're running ~150hp, so goes to figure that you'd need 1.5 times the rubber on the ground to maintain the same wear level.

try to stay away from the 3rd window closed tracks-the bad outways the good-if your track is going to be studded [good idea] id go with the 9837
wayyy better hookup than stock pos and the one on my viper has over 5k miles and looks good

9818 track is indestructable. A closed window track will increase slider life dramatically by holding more snow against the slides. 9854 hooks great on hardpack but when snow gets loose the 9818 is better. I have used allmost every track camo makes in the last 3 years on my sleds so I kinda am talking from personnal experience.

Right, so why did mine rip apart? And I'm not just talking about the explosion that ended its life... it fell apart in the first 100 miles but I ran it for 2000.

Also... third window closed... holds more snow in, at the expense of also holding more snow OUT. Personally, I don't give a rats as* about that point, I've had both and don't feel that there's any appreciable difference.

For what it's worth I have a 9860 on my '97 Storm. This is the same as a 9818 (except the snowcross certified version - same compound, pitch, lug height, etc.) with every 3rd window closed. After about 3000 hard miles it still looks almost new.

IMO, It's the best track I've ever run. It's quiet, amazing traction, and durable.

LB, How many 9818 have you had this problem.....mine is awesome with no damage and we ride on some real crap here. There is nothing made by man that man cannot destroy..... :D :D

The track was the best I ever experienced , what a joy to have traction all the time ,all winter long . However , a least on the Warrior , it was very loud . In fact track hum at 30-35 mph is silly loud, like an airplane coming down the trail .

Personally I would get the 9838, which is 1". It is fully clipped and open and you can run 1.25" studs with no problems. Why bother with the 1.25"?

A minor oversight, sometimes I forget that. There is a 121" equivalant to this track which I believe is the 9837. You save 4 #'s of rotating weight too.

I have a camo challenger 1.25 136" track and it delammed, will have to rip it out this summer too. Challengers are now discontinued, go figure.
