1. I put a Daytona gauge on my Phazer Mountain Lite - very easy install and seems to be a nice unit (just put it on).
2. For $18 I had the local shop cut me a piece of .060 aluminum in the dimensions of 11.25" x 25" - I installed one of these with rivets on both my FX and Mountain to close off the rear hole. Easy to do.
3. My FX does not have a fan and is new to me - just bought it a month ago. For those that have installed a fan, is it plug and play or do you have to add a temp sensor and elecrical wiring? I see that the fan number crosses over to a few Yamaha quad models - and they go pretty cheap used.

I could be wrong here, but I believe that on the FX and GT the fan is plug and play. I have the base model and they had to replace the wiring harness.

You should check with your dealer about the fan. Yes, your FX is prewired for a fan.

If you have a link for this that'd be cool, I think louvers would ease my dislike of compleatly closing my tunnel. i'm skared of heating up my backside more then it needs to.
