Where are you Ms. La Niña? Ms. La Niña you are supposed to show up and give us a colder and wetter winter than average here in the Midwest. So far, you've been a no show, and been a huge disappointment to all the snow lovers. You're making it really hard to go to the shop and work on my snomachine Ms. La Niña.... We're cold enough now for snow, but none in the 10 day outlook. How am I supposed to get out to ride my snomachine Ms. La Niña? How am I supposed to even get excited to work on my snomachine Ms. La Niña? Last season you sent you're cohort in crime Mr. El Niño to ruin our entire winter snow season. I hope you show up to fix Mr. El Niño's dastardly deed from the 23/24 snow season. I'm starting to reach the end of my rope and get real cranky. Ya, real cranky.

Ms. La Niña I was really hoping you'd show before Santa did so we could get in some December riding in. Now I'm starting to get worried. Please-please come soon so I can get excited about my new model year 2023 snow machine that took forever to get. I've been a really good boy waiting patiently, and I've only put 60 miles on my new 23 snow machine so far. I am getting really let down and depressed again this season you may not show up. Please come quick to the midwest! Please!

There hasn't been a lot of positive weather or info for we snowmobile fanatics for the last couple years for sure. I am in NWO and snow and sledding was a given in our area every year but not anymore. Thank goodness i have enjoyed 60+ years of riding sleds as it keeps me motivated to continue my passion for this sport.
We definitely need Mother Nature to throw us a bone to move forward....hopefully these recent winters are just a part of a cycle that will return to more wintery conditions in the coming seasons.

I keep hearing the latest weather news phrases like 'polar vortex', 'extreme cold', 'will feel like - _ _ with the windchill' and 'weather bomb', in an attempt to get us to pay attention and watch the video forecasts. Yet nothing much materializes, except lots of ads in said videos.

Riding everyday from middle/end of december to end of march was a given here in northern maine except for last winter and so far this winter. Ihad all sleds serviced and ready to ride by end of october and we got a few burns in on the old railbeds and then it dissapeared. If its not going to get here soon id be fine with it warming back up so I can take out the dirtbikes and rip up my lawn with my boy. This is beyond frustrating.

Now I just heard that LP gas prices are increasing substantially because of the possibility of these so called Vortex's & weather bombs....it's such a racket, jacking prices because it might get cold. Wtf lol

Back in the 70's....
We had patches and stickers like this.
Time to bring them back again.
I still have this patch.

Second That! 2 weeks off and not a single ride !

Agreed, went to Houghton, MI for what was supposed to be 4 days and left after 2 because it was raining. Time for offerings and sacrifices to Heikki Lunta!

:letsnow:

I agree it's depressing. I have 3 sleds in the trailer with 0 miles. Jan is looking like a bust for snow but fortunately the cold will remain. We close on a cabin in Northern Wisconsin the 29th so hoping for lots of snow in Feb and March.

65 km! Woohoo!

This is absolutely pathetic. This may be the last year I will possess a sled. Tired of having this lawn ornament but who would buy a sled? At least I didn't buy a pass this year as I knew this would happen. Last year wasn't any better. I have a feeling the OFSC will be in real trouble as I suspect a lot of people did the same thing and will be abandoning the sport.

Looks like good snow to be coming to southern Il Indiana and Tennessee this weekend lol. Goes everywhere but where we need it
Also forecasted for Missouri and Kansas, good grief!!

Gee I bet the Missouri folks are getting their groomers ready....:o|

I was all hot on buying another Winder about 6 weeks ago, now I am glad I haven't done a thing.

I suppose we illinoisans are lucky. We stopped getting snow 30 years ago. This doesn't even faze me one bit.
I'm happy if I put on 100 miles just as though it was a 1000. It just doesn't matter. As long as when I do get out I still feel like a kid. That... is what matters.
Got to ride Southern Wisconsin last year, put on 85 miles & a 15min drive.
Best miles I've put on in a long time.
