I have rode my phazer on 5 different days now in 25 to 35 degree weather. 4 out of 5 times my feet felt like they were in fish bowls. The snow hits the muffler and melts, runs down the tunnel then down your pant bib and right into the top of your boot. I didn't have to worry about the sled icing up in back, it was the river of water running right into my boot. Nothing like going into a bar taking your boot off and having an inch of water in the bottom. Any one got fish? The first 2 times I had my trukke boots on, then I bought a new pair of baffin boots, same problem. Finally I got out a full rubber boot(1 1/2 foot tall) and my feet stayed dry. What a stupid design flaw, I can't believe no one else has had this problem. I had 2 buddies ride my sled and they were both complaining of their pant legs getting soaked, they gave me my sled back before their boots filled up. :o| :o| :o| :o| :o| Other than this the phazer is Fantastic, it feels like a bunny rabbit wish it had a 3 cylinder then it would be a jack rabbit.

i have 200 miles now and no water in my boots,i run my ski pants over my boots so its impossible to get soaked, dont even have snow on my legs BUT i did add deflectors on the tunnel.no issues at all with mine except for small logo flyin off and a bit of vibration

Almost the same experience here... On long trips my pants get soaking wet before it freeze to ice. Can hardly stretch my legs when climbing of sled... I'm gone close that fxxxing hole in tunnel. Dont think the problem will be solved completely by doing this but I'l think it will help alot.

At the begining of the month I put about 90 miles on my Phazer in warmer weather. I too got all wet. But it just got my pants wet, nothing in my boots or anything.

Lucky me! I've shot open water, road allmost 600 miles and don't have tunnel shields. Bone stock, except the belly protector. I wear truck boots(high ones) and wear Yamaha Endurance pants. My but got a little wet cause the space suit material on the buts not waterproof, but that was from the heavy wet snow that was falling around Phelps Wisc on friday morning. I rode deep snow a month ago that turned the front and running boards into popsicles, but didn't get me all wet. I think I'd cover the hole in your tunnel with alluminum and rivit it in and hope the exhaust doesn't need the snow. Alot of people don't like the hole. If I was getting fish in my boots I'd cover it. Or at least be taking pictures and calling my dealer.

We have 200 miles on our Phazer and I dont get wet... and we rode in some warm sloppy trails. I do see water on the boards but not this exaggerated river that flows into my boots...maybe a few drops on my snow pants.

I can tell you this no matter what sled I ride, when its 35 degrees out, I may as well wear tennis shoes as my feet sweat so damn bad....

Buy the Yamaha accessory tunnel panels or make your own. They work great in reducing the amount of snow to almost nothing on the running boards.

But they dont reduce the icebuild up and the weight of all this ice inside the tunnel. Read about a guy on this forum that have weight the amount of ice that slipped from the tunnel to 30lbs..

i got the Blue panals and rode it twice 50 Miles and 80 Miles Not wet feet or Build Up!

I even Skipped 60' of open water with her and stayed DRY!

That's not what's at question here. If you reread the initial post, it refers to getting wet from all the snow/water produced from the hole. The panels alleviate that problem. As far as the ice build up on the inside of the tunnel, tapping it off with a mallet after the ride solved it for me. I also had to do it on my Attak, so it seems it's just over emphasized on the Phazer since our attention is drawn to that hole.

Happened on my Rx-1's and Attak. Simply kick it off or pick up the back and let it drop every now and then. Ice comes off. Simple.

I Think I will try the yamaha accessory panels and silicone the bottom. I know for a fact that all the water runs down the tunnel and is wicked or dropped into the top of my boots. With the all rubber boots, my feet never got wet and when I stopped at the bar and literally poured water out of my boot it wasn't from sweet I hope, otherwise I better go see a doctor. A wet rear end is one thing, but when your feet get wet get me home. The warmer the day was the worse the problem was. The other part I didn't add earlier was 2 times I was lucky and borrowed socks from my rival skidoo riders and borrowed garbage bags from bartenders to put my feet in. They have enough trunk storage to pack a wardrobe in the skidoo trunks and bag. We are lucky if we can get a spare toothpick in our plastic box. My next project I think is to design a better trunk, there is room. I still think yamaha Rules and kicks you know what!!!!!!!!!! I can handle the heat just not wet feet.
